Javid - whose name means “eternal” in Farsi, has indeed created a timeless piece of music for the next episode in our Urban Cosmonaut Radio series. Featuring a range of his own productions, live improvisations and organic samples, this mixtape tells a story that takes us to a world without borders or geographical boundaries.
Born and raised in Berlin, Javid’s music takes us on a journey through everlasting traditions and rituals of the Middle East, tribal vocals from Africa and organic sounds he’s collected from around the world. His Persian heritage and unique cultural influences fuse together to create a soundscape he describes as “ethno techno” - with basslines full of tangible tension and melodies tainted with melancholia.

At just under halfway in, 2019 is undoubtedly another pivotal year for tech house, especially when it comes with a healthy serving of booty-bouncing bass and a delectable weirdness that accompanies a particular set of supremely talented artists. Enter VNSSA, who has seen her career take off in epic fashion this year, releasing on notable labels including Box of Cats, Psycho Disco!, and of course, Bay Area house mainstay Dirtybird.

Anybody who has had the pleasure of catching VNSSA live knows that she's packing some serious heat. As house and bass music continues to spread worldwide, we have become ever more interested in the expanding markets across the waters, especially in the US which seems to be a hotbed for new 4x4 talent in recent. years. Of course with different influences and backgrounds, we large differentiation between that and the UK sounds, but to see how they come together is always a pleasing site.

Today we here to take a look at OMNOM, a producer based out of LA who has been catching the ears and attention of a number of heavy hitters, primarily through his uniquely groovy production style and insatiable appetite for for the original and unexpected. His unique vocal aspect is something that really sets him apart from other producers in a similar area, using quirky, effected accapellas to add a whole new dimension to his already super groovy composition structures.

The best way to show what we mean is by giving you an example of his most recent release which was put together via the team at Strangelove Recordings. It's a most interesting creation, packed with weird and wonderful bass warbles and stuttered 4x4 rhythmic structures, which we have attached for your listening pleasure via the link below.

It was a sparkling Saturday night at Fusion Festival, all dancers were out of their shelters after the burning sun had set, the energy was raising high when Buddy aka Kusht (https://soundcloud.com/kusht-music) stepped on stage and began his show. Kusht is a Norway-based Scottishman born under the sign of Aquarius, who has been playing in bands for about sixteen years and started his electronic productions seven years ago. His first steps into this new dimension were not really firm, he says. His loud, rock background was clear, but he couldn’t really identify his electronic sound until he visited Fusion Festival for the first time, four years ago. In that very inspiring chaos he found his path, he finally knew how his productions were about to sound, and here we have a great taste of that. The set that we are about to bring to your
ears was recorded live at the Dub Station. It comprises exclusively his original material, some of it was released on his latest vinyl ‘Together’(@ynfnd), and some is still unreleased. For this live set Kusht unleashed his guitar and selected the tracks he plays it the most on, so the set sounds more like a rock performance with world-music influences, rather than the typical electronic set. The artist confessed to us that sometimes he wishes he had an extra arm playing live guitar throughout his performances. 
Enough words spent, it’s time to listen to this amazing set...and to listen to it LOUD!
