It is always a thrill to welcome back one of our long standing regulars to 3000 Bass, which is why seeing Digital Koala unload this explosive new four tracker brings us so much joy. From start to finish it packs a major punch, with ‘Sticky’ being an EP that is set to knock the socks off of ravers nationwide.

We open up with the title track ‘Sticky’, a sweltering sweep through whammy bass curls and smooth rhythmic glides, giving us a bombshell of an original from the jump. Next up, glittering glitches galore in ‘Destruction Program’, followed by the choppy rhythmic grinds and growling synthesiser action of ‘Excellent’.

We then move into our smokey finale as ‘King Of Bass’ arrives to takes it’s closing crown, fusing a magnificent display of sumptuous sub-lines and groovy synth action above for a fiery closer indeed, giving the whole EP a final touch of finesse to round it off in style.

Digital Koala - King Of Bass

This time around, we welcome back the beautiful production talents of mike is here! who unloads three rocket propelled originals onto our system.

We begin with 'Friday Night’ which deploys a lucid display of synthetic energy, combining unique melodic flickers over a steadily progressing backdrop. Next, the title track ‘Ordinary Love’ offers a fluttering twist up through glittering arpeggios and smooth subs below, providing the perfect foundation for some stunning vocal work to run riot.

Finally, the high-paced half-time twists of ‘Night Bus’ give us a cute outro episode, fusing stuttered drum textures and angelic vocal harmonies to see the project out in style. This was another very enjoyable return to 3000 Deep, once again exploring abstraction in the best way possible.

This time around, a pretty legendary link up is upon us as we see Dryman & Sirmo once again join forces for a rave-inspired two-tracker, jam-packed with undeniable dance floor energy.

First up, ‘Rollin’ delivers a sumptuous, sub-driven sweep through deep- house bass lines and glitchy melodic switches, giving us a very original to enjoy. Next, jittering synth stabs and gliding subs below give another system-warbler in ‘Gangster’, a more stripped back but just as potent B-
side, rounding off the EP with a splash.

Next up, we welcome a heavyweight combination of artistry, landing with an epic stomper from Liam V & Prayer Handz, in collaboration with the immediately recognisable vocal prowess of the one and only Dread MC, returning in style on this brand new sizzler entitled ‘Gang & Click’.

The track introduces itself with grimey, southern-influenced rolling 808 bass tones and hard hitting rap vocals from Dread, which then transform into something completely different. We are then greeted by face-melting synthesizer slams and hard hitting drum punches, giving this one a serious feel. It’s not often that three way collaborations go this hard, but we sure are thrilled it did!

As always with the release plans here at 3000 Bass, we intend to keep the energy levels high and continue to explore the most fragrant areas of bassline and garage music. We are therefore super excited to be welcoming the sounds of Mike D-Fekt inside for a skill crushing two track display, focussing on unique rhythms and tidy bass designs.

We open up with the ruckus inducing synth rolls of ‘2Nite’, a scrumptious display of syncopated drum arrangement and crunchy bass creation, keeping the ravers on their toes from start until stop. Following on from this, the party goes up another notch as ‘HDMI1’ leaps into a more grizzly zone, focussing on pumping 4x4 drum shuffles and gnarly sub pulses, upping the ante and rounding this latest two tracker off with an additional dash of panache.

Hailing from Pécs, a small-ish, but remarkably bustling university town in the south of Hungary, Andras Szirmai had quite a bunch of different influences growing up: drumandbass, breaks, hiphop, school radio parties, supporting international artists in Budapest clubs, later listening to grime and bassline house, et cetera.

Out of this mixture comes his layered, bassline-heavy world that would hold his own even in street-level London – and indeed it does: since he started cooking up his own beats in 2007, he’s built himself quite a significant number of supporters. Think Kissy Sell Out, The Artful Dodger, Flava D and DJ Q – and also Rinse.FM, where he receives more and more airplay as his EPs come by.

 

Solid shuffle, tight drums and intricate bass work is what Sirmo’s music is all about – sometimes romantic and playful, but more often than not it also includes darker and sicker affairs, minding dancefloor effectiveness at all times. Definitely someone to watch out for, especially if you’re into world-class UKG!
