GABD012 sees Viikatory join the Gimme A Break roster with a 6-track EP of cosmic electro. Hailing from Minsk, Belarus, Viikatory began producing in 2019 and absorbed production techniques at a fierce pace. Classical training from a young age adds a harmonic side to her high-momentum tracks. Viikatory has previously released on Warning, Mana Ambulance, International Chrome, Lap Records, Mutual Pleasure and also has a forthcoming release with Juicy Gang Records. For GABD012, Viikatory has fused her signature style of gritty electro with breakbeats and trance-inspired elements to produce a collection of compositions which transport listeners into the stratosphere and rave alike.

The EP opens with ‘Got My 2nd Juice’ an extra-terrestrial, amphibious production which fuses celestial bleeps with a creeping bassline, transitioning to a steady four-by-four rhythm in the track’s latter half. “05” follows with a stunning cascade of 808 percussion, shimmering synths and bubbling bassline arpeggios. “Transmission” leans into Viikatory’s trance inspirations while maintaining the EP’s firm foundation upon dark and sinister electro. “Break Point” and “To The Future” showcase Viikatory’s impressive drum programming and breakbeat manipulation. Finally, Hermeth delivers a high-octane remix of “Got My 2nd Juice” to round off GABD012.

It’s a mean streak of the fetid and unfettered – no messing, just a trio of malevolent excursions with added texture.

Rhodes Island is a vibey drum 'n bass number with dazzling edits and beat trickery, reminding us of the legacies of Nucleus and Paradox while still sounding extremely 2018. Don Greno is a more garage influenced roller that has been doing the rounds as a dub on Rinse. Ocean Floor is a sluggish, dubbed out drum groove perfect for those late night early morning vibrations.
