On the A-Side, Air-ism and Sugar bubble with peak time energy - a pair of secret weapons which haven’t left our record bags for months now. B1 E is a pounding, energetic 4x4 pumper, whilst Sycamore closes things out with moody, shuffling drums and powerful low end pressure.

Counting from one to ten is one of the first things we learn when we try to speak a new language. It's also a universal language we use in our beats. Numbers are the inspiration source of this album, and its roots are in the inherent rhythmical existence of numbers in music. There is a numerical theme in all the tracks. hree years after their first collaboration, culminating in the release of “The Passenger”, Om Unit and Martyn are back on 3024 with another four track exploration of tempo and vibrations on a new EP called “AJ^6”.

The two ‘veteran’ producers have been highly prolific over the past years, with Om Unit making waves with his massive Acid Dub Studies project as well as new work under his Philip D. Kick alias, and Martyn spearheading and mentoring a robust group of new musicians responsible for no less than five (!) compilations on 3024. What brings the two producers together in the studio once again is the constant hunger for new and interesting sounds on the outer rim of the ‘bass continuum’. Instead of tirelessly rehashing old tropes they are continuously inspired to write new music that’s both current as well as firmly in their aesthetic profile.

‘Basilisk’ and ‘The Trenches’ are great examples of the duo blending odd tempos with dub wise heaviness. ‘Basilisk’ has already been doing some serious damage on the dance floor with its punchy 107 beat structure and headzy breakdown, while the almost imperial march of ‘The Trenches’ introduces a bubbly bass line. ‘Illroy’ and ‘Dragonfly’ both inhabit a dreamier, more melodic universe and have a timeless, ambivalent quality to them, somewhere between a lost b-side of an early 00s Hospital Records release and something on Scuffed. “Dog Eared”! Named as such as it marks a turning point in my productions and releases. Made while moving from Bristol back to London this as a theme pops up throughout the EP.

“Ithaca Vox” is the name of my first ever favourite preset - a CMI-inspired pad from GarageBand which I’ve been using since I was 11 but never on a release. The track also samples the screeching of Victoria line on my way back from nights out.

“Bubble Trouble” caused many headaches to finish hence the addition of the word “Trouble”. The track pops, floats and bursts into the space between simplistic cartoon sound sources and excessively over the top sound design and production.

“Dive” dives further into these production ideas swapping tight space tiny bubbles for wide grinning resonance. The twisting track cuts these resonances leaving a large valley of missing frequencies that gets suddenly filled by an unrelentingly simple bell centring the listeners balance.

“From Window to Wall” gives a not so subtle nod to one of my favourite excessive chart hits as well as a further nod to the source of some of the track samples (see if you spot them).

“Calpohol” is the first collaboration Ive released (another reason to Dog Ear this release). Made from an afternoon of recording with Delay Grounds on his custom Eurorack the track was shaped by us over the weeks that followed.

Judder presents the first EP of the year 2025: ‘Keep It Locked‘ EP – a collab of the two beginner producers @nattah_sound and @naprimer_1.

The release consists of one collab that gave the name for the EP itself, a remix on it from @oddkut, as well as solo tracks by Nattah and Naprimer.

This new mini-album has all the shades of up-to-date bass music – punchy breakbeat with oriental vibes, experiments at 140 bpm, seasoned with overdrive effects, airy leftfield bass and groove-filled percussion parts, referring to Baile Funk. Every British modern sound fan will certainly find something for themselves here.
