Of a movement

Allow him to
Show his face at reunions

I once lived
In a quaint apartment with the founder
Of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence
Who explained over and over
How her father beat her 
To within an inch of
Her life every single time 
He couldn’t force her to not be 
Who she was.

I listened with ire 
Wide eyed
Saw the clouds of
Crystal being blown In the air
Realizing that at a certain point the trauma
Overtook the movement
