The band’s first rumblings can be traced back to Lincoln, NE in 2012 when Owen and Craig began writing guitar riffs and composing instrumental tracks together. Their songs found new life after relocating to Omaha in 2019 when they joined forces with a new vocalist (Paige), drummer (Tyler), and bassist (Shannon). The group began creating new material and played their first show in the fall. The Wakeup plans to record and release a full-length album in the near future while continuing to perform live with other local bands.

Cross Neil Young and Nirvana with synths and 808’s and you have yourself, Baker Explosion.  A family band from Nebraska.  Two Brothers (Ben and Jason), with Jason’s son Isaiah on keys and synths and Felipe Gardea on Bass, along with David Chamberlain as their drummer, they all came to Baker Explosion with serious musical chops. Jason is an experienced alto sax player, multi-instrumentalist. Ben’s guitar playing has audiences thrilled, yet, he also sings, plays piano, and banjo as well. Isaiah started his tenure as the bands drummer but has moved to keys, synths and vocals with the addition of David, who has played in several touring bands throughout his life, and Felipe who is currently attending Berkley University in Boston Mass.
 
Both Brothers have spent their lifetimes writing songs.  Mostly being heard only by a handful of friends and family, but in 2016 they had the opportunity of playing a slot on Hear Nebraska’s Good Living Tour, along with doing a set during their hometowns 4th of July celebration with thousands in attendance, broadening their audience, and pushing them to continue writing and recording music.
The Band is poised to release several sets of new singles in 2018.  
In 2015 the band independently released their Debut album “Down In The Cornroots” A record of original songs written across a span of several years, representing different parts of each of the brothers separate lives, that came together as a strong foundation for the band.  They have released three music videos for the album “Day After Yesterday” “All I Know” and “Cornroots” The Videos keep a not too serious tone that makes them fun to watch.
