This instrument made of fireballs immediately made me think of the two organ pipes I have in my studio. I took them outside and played them with a shop vac. A bit noisy, but there it is.

Added two elements to 33per's track, both are made from samples of the lowest organ pipe. Left lots of empty space.

As the original track is stereo and makes use of that, my mix is also stereo with my parts layered on. I have a version with hard panning if you prefer.

These instructions are fairly lengthy. Please read carefully.

While this is the second part of a three-part project, you can participate in one, two, or all three of the parts, which will occur over the course of three consecutive weeks, starting last week. 

Step 1: This week’s Disquiet Junto project is the second in a sequence intended to encourage and reward asynchronous collaboration. This week you’ll be adding music to a pre-existing track, which you will source from the previous week’s Junto project (disquiet.com/0636). Note that you aren’t creating a duet — you’re creating the second third of what will eventually be a trio. Important: Leave space for what is yet to come.

Step 2: The plan is for you to record a short and original piece of music, on any instrumentation of your choice, as a complement to a pre-existing track. First, however, you must select the piece of music to which you will be adding your own music. There are tracks by numerous musicians to choose from (47 as of last count). My addition is a pair of bass parts. It was a challenge to make the bass parts stand distinct without being able to shape the other two parts... but I did my best.

I also added a kick. It seemed needed to drive the percussion once there were so many other parts going on. I shamelessly admit that I got the idea from reading @DeDe's write up of their own treatment of the same pair of tracks.  (Didn't listen yet to keep myself ignorant by what is surely a fantastic bass track!)

I resisted the temptation to muck with the two original parts, but I did use the original full-stereo version of Just Percussion, and then I panned it and rightward somewhat left and right, not hard. You should still be able to keep the parts distinct as you listen. As always - if anyone wants stems, or a hard L-C-R mix, just ask.
