Rob grew up in a secular home in Melbourne. His mother was an atheist, but his father became a Seventh-day Adventist when he was a teenager. His Dad actively shared with him the things he was learning about God, but Rob rebelled against it in order to look "cool" among his friends. 

Driven by peer pressure, Rob continued on this rebellious path for many years. One day, Rob experienced something that completely shook him up to the core. Suddenly he realised that the things his Dad had shared with him must be true. He could not dismiss these convictions despite trying to.

Fine Paiaaua, is of Tongan heritage but an Australian citizen, born in Sydney. He studied theology at Avondale University, Cooranbong NSW. 

Life was tough in the Paiaaua home. 8 children to feed, meant both mum and dad worked two jobs each in order to feed the family and keep them together. Fine’s childhood and early teen years held a good deal of turmoil. He witnessed abuse in the family, bullying and discrimination at school. He outlines more in this interview. 

At 12 years of age, something happened that changed his thinking. What happened to bring about the changes?

Born in Jamaica, Robert and his family moved to Canada when he was 9 years old. The family worshipped as Seventh Day Adventists. During his school days, Robert gradually drifted into some bad habits.

Today, Robert is a vibrant Christian. He loves nothing more than to share his faith and walk with Jesus.  He enjoys working in Lifestyle areas. He is a keen believer in prayer and having a relationship with Jesus Christ.

What made the difference between the youthful partying days and the earnest and sincere life Robert enjoys today?  It wasn’t easy.  When Cancer clasped him in its ugly vice, Robert learned firsthand, just how a walk with Jesus can lead you to victory despite what is going on around you. Born in Invercargill N.Z, the eldest of 6 children, Alistair was expected to follow his dad’s career as a builder. But Alistair had another love – Cooking! Burning his first batch of toffee, he was forbidden to do any more cooking.  He managed to sneak in a second batch. It was delicious. Alistair was on his way to becoming a chef. 

The family was expected to attend church every Sunday with mum.  
“Don’t you ever have that man and his Bible here again! Or I’ll make sure he doesn’t come back ever.” 

 Who said this? What happened? Alistair will answer that question.  

Several years later and the Bible Study question rises again. Did it take place or was it dismissed? That’s an exciting story in itself.

Our interview today, takes us to the island of Samoa, nestled in the Pacific. Pastor Talai Mohr( a Seventh-day Adventist Pastor), shares the highs and the lows of his momentous journey.

From birth, Samoan children are taught the principles of Congregational Christianity. They are forbidden to listen to other religions.
What led Talai to move to Australia, leaving the tradition of his homeland, his faith, and his family of origin?

From a tender young age, Colin was on a search for meaning. This grew into a thirst to understand Who God was. At 17 he entered the Navy where he spent 7 years navigating around the world. 

From early Catholic leanings through Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witness and  Eastern religions Colin’s search continued. At 29 whilst working in Melbourne, Colin decided that he would approach God directly.  His first question was, “God, do you exist?" and “If you do exist, where is your church?"

No answer. Later, in Sydney and walking along Bondi Beach one night, Colin met some young people. 

They were clean cut and whilst talking with them, he realised they were Christians.  Would this  answer some of his questions?
