Hathreb ''هذربات'' is a series of podcasts which focuses on mixing & exploring Arabic electronic music through dj sets


Hathreb هذرب is an activity we all participate in more or less, which means ( in my own words ) ~_:  talking full sentences of logical words that does not make any sense at all ( most of the times ), found more under the influence of good vibes and friends. 

The definition itself is a hathrabeh i'd say.

Time is the continued sequence of existence and events that occurs in an apparently irreversible succession from the past, through the present, into the future. We humans have found nifty ways to define and help us understand it. Yet everyone's perception of this strange thing is unique.
Time dissolves into oblivion, if someone pushes "play" on the right track at the right place and time. Well, not too long ago the universe pushed a monumental pause button causing time and with it life on earth to freeze - but: our hearts never did.

We kept them in a safe place. And now a new summer is here, one that invites the dancing feet back to the places we hold so dearly.

"A Mirror For The Sun" is a compilation of pieces, which strive for no less than be the soundtrack that awakens our spirits, now that the big play button has finally been pushed.

Woke up today and read the horrible news of Rim Banna leaving this world, She has been fighting with breast cancer for almost 9 years and has lost the ability to sing about 2 years ago.

Rim has left us with 6 beautiful albums and was planning on releasing her 7th album next month, she was known for her resistance of the occupation and that beautiful smile filled with hope & love.

Rest in peace Nazareth's Daughter.

Kybele: A moment of silence for those who were tragically killed in Palestine this week and a meditation for peace in the voices of Palestinian women who refuse to be silenced, who tell us their story through songs of their land, love, loss, and longing…In hopes for a world that imagines and strives for peace, justice, and dignity for all...

Aser: This set was supposed to be released a few months from today, but sometimes the time just feels right. Yesterday the US embassy moved to Jerusalem in hopes that it will bring peace closer to our door steps, but we believe it is just one more way of breaking international law and the denouncing of Palestinian rights, which drives us further and further away from reaching a peaceful solution. Living under Occupation and Apartheid rule is near impossible, but a lot of beauty is created from living under such circumstances as a way of struggle. This mixtape is a take on Palestinian women’s experiences in their own words and music. I am truly happy and honored to be kicking off this amazing series by the KYBELE project.

The Monologue remixes have fluttered in: scattered doses of passion, groove, pain and movement. Five remixers re-interpret the electronic folk songs of composer Yousef Kekhia. The task was a challenge, for Kekhia’s songs are deeply personal, kindled by his post-Syrian civil war experiences. Niklas Paschburg, UNDERHER, Hello Psychaleppo, Ghost of Christmas and Kekhia himself sustain Monologue’s original organic feel, while sprinkling on percussive elements, lush synths, gravelling basses or decisive plays on tempo.

Monologue is Yousef Kekhia’s debut album, a lyrical exploration spun across the pavements of Turkey, Syria and Berlin. He sings of the space between displacement, remembrance, hardship and healing. In the hands of our remixers, these Arabic lyrics find new windows to look out from, at times ambient, at times bass-heavy, at times upbeat. The Monologue reworks turn one man’s tale into dialogue, adding new perspectives to his story in a way only music can.
