In this week’s mix we have DJ collective and community Rhythm Sister. They form a formidable partnership behind the decks, but also work hard behind the scenes to promote and support rising female, nonbinary, and trans talent in the electronic music scene.

They put on parties, Ableton and DJ workshops, curate radio takeovers, and DJ out together a bunch; recently playing Risen, Queens Yard Summer Party, Love International, and more. We were lucky enough to catch three of their members Ariane V, Hemlin, and Liv Ayers play a bangin B2B2B at this year’s @divine.risen festival and we’ve been pestering them for a mix ever since. Et Voilá!

London newcomer Alex Klein debuts on long-time London party and newly-formed label, SUBMIT, with the 'First Relic' EP.

This EP of intricately arranged Techno bubblers is borne of Alex's fascination with ancient archaeology, especially sites around the world that seem to show advanced stonework beyond what was believed capable at the time. Parallels of this can be heard among the compositions, with shamanic vocal chops that counter skippy, resonant synthesis. Underpinning the release is an abundance of analogue percussion (jammed live and on the fly) giving a hint of his captivating ability as a live performer. The record is pristinely mixed-down, and demonstrates a breadth technical and musical skills many years in the making. 

On remix duties SUBMIT hail up longtime co-conspirator Throwing Snow (Houndstooth) and Scuba collaborator, Lawrence Hart (Hotflush).
