KataHaifisch was born in 2015 as a podcast series on SoundCloud. The original mission? To provide a stage for fresh talent within the electronic music scene. What started as a springboard for newcomers quickly evolved into a trusted hub for established artists and creatives alike.

In 2020, we took the next step and transformed from a podcast project into a fully-fledged record label with a distinct sonic identity. We are dedicated to the deep and melodic sides of electronic music: driving Indie Dance, earthy Organic House, and hypnotic Down- & Midtempo grooves.

Since then, our weekly Thursday podcasts have been complemented by regular releases on all major platforms, curating a sound that works just as well for deep listening as it does for the club. Whether you are looking for fresh discoveries or your next favorite track, we invite all music lovers to tune in, dig deep, and get lost in the sound.

KataHaifisch wurde 2015 als eine Podcastreihe auf SoundCloud gegründet. 
Der Ursprungsgedanke? Neuen Talenten aus der elektronischen Musikszene eine Bühne bieten. Was als Sprungbrett für Newcomer*innen begann, wurde schnell auch zur Anlaufstelle für etablierte Artists und Künstler*innen aller Art.

2020 folgte der nächste Schritt: Aus einem Podcast Projekt wurde ein eigenes Label mit Fokus auf Down-Midtempo, Indie Dance & Organic House Seitdem gibt’s zu den wöchentlichen Donnerstagspodcasts auch regelmäßige Releases auf allen gängigen Plattformen.

David Rausch began his artistic journey at the age of six. Holding his first guitar, he decided music would become his inseparable companion and a way to express himself. After exploring various genres, his passion intertwined with enthusiasm for electronic music production.

Since 2017, David has been experimenting with the tempo of his compositions, which now range between 100-120 bpm. His performances are an artistic fusion of live vocals, synthesizer, and improvisation on a drum machine. These elements converge in an energetic flow of sounds. He draws inspiration from electronic music genres such as downtempo, organic house, and slow tech.

David's work has garnered international recognition, finding a place on esteemed labels such as @Amselcom, @iamher_records, @underyourskinrecords, @wayurecords, @trndmusik, @leveldva-music and @monada-project. His debut album "Time EP," released under @randomcollectivecr, showcases his artistic prowess. Notably, the collaborative track "Sleep Is Holy" with Landhouse has amassed 1.7 million views on Spotify, attesting to its popularity.

Started mixing and playing music in clubs and pubs in 1997 at Nancy (FR) for Les Deux Palmiers and Le Terminal Export, then for private parties at Strasbourg for Le Living Room, Strasbourg Live sessions or Ella Clandestine.
There are so many electronic music influences as long as it's dark, weird and bass. But it can also be deep house, tech house and Afro jungle house when it comes to have people on the dancefloor!
