The time feels about right for Ole Mic Odd’s offering to the Aperitif series. For this mix, The New U.S. Government’s head of state takes us out for a nice summer drive across interstate lines. 

Strictly composed of his own productions and using different aliases at times, this collage displays Oli’s versatility as a producer and his admirable attention to detail not only as a selector but also as an executor. 
A vast array of styles, strategically arranged one after another and abruptly interrupted by intermission samples or hotel field recordings is what binds this journey tight and gives it its true DIY essence.

Apart from keeping busy with production duties,  Ole, real name Michael,  is a talented graphic designer and founder of the cassette imprint The New U.S. Government. The latest addition to its steady growing catalogue is a ten-track VA with music from artists like Egzotikka, Drum Machine, Drvg Culture, to name a few.

ZwaarteKracht are very proud to present the 3rd edition in the series, inviting some very unique and forward thinking artists.
The very prolific Zagreb-based producer Ivna Ji kicks off side “Z” mercilessly grooving a bassline down your spine like an itchy virus. Followed up close by Errorbeauty, who has been pushing boundaries through her own label Arkada Records (which she runs along with XOR12). Her track here displays some geniously organic machinerythms into an eerie dystopian escape.
On side “K”, Arsonist Recorder hosts this record with an invasion of microbug machinery in a heavily rocking track that continues to sonically outline the reactive views of this label, only to prepare the listener for UK-based producer and dj Kim Cosmik’s industrialised funk-anthem which concludes this release, masterfully drilling the beat into the floor with a rumbling subbass-message to society.

Suburban Tales 1 was born as a VA dedicated to pushing local talents: it was our intimate dedication to Milan, the city which raised us, made us know each other, forged our sound.

Before this worldwide emergency, we were already planning the sequel, but this particular situation drove us to extend it both to Italian and international friends and affiliates.

A powerful project was born to finance the "Fondo San Giuseppe", a fund instituted by Comune di Milano, to support the people who lost their job during this struggle which sees Milan as one of the cities that had been hit most by the virus.

We will devolve the entire revenue to this association.

This is my second liveset. I have done it in the covid-'holiday'-time in April 2020. I had so much time for playing with my kids, making music and watching TV :D
It is all done with a Octatrack, a Novation Drumstation, a Novation A-Station, an Elektron Analog Drive, a Korg Monologue and a Roland VT-3. ....it goes all through a Mackie mixer and an Alesis Smashup compressor.

So I think, that there will be no other videocut from my livesets in the future. It looks so easy, when you watch such videos, but is sooooooooo hard to produce them!
