„Regi“ means watermelon in Iraqi Arabic.
The watermelon started being used as a symbol of Palestinian resistance and solidarity in response to Israeli suppression of the display of the Palestinian flag. It has the same colors as the flag: red, green, white and black.
Nowadays it’s used more than ever. The Palestinian cause is the tip of the iceberg. It starts there but in the end it’s about the liberation of all oppressed people. No one is free until we all are free.
