International Gem is a New York bred rapper known for being a lyrical mastermind. Gem is originally from Greenburgh, New York, but resides in Yonkers. Even though growing up Gem was exposed to the street life, music showed to be his true confidant. When other kids were watching cartoons, he was listening to greats from Kool G Rap, Jeru the Damaja, to Wu Tang Clan. Just like Wu Tang, he was a student preparing himself to be a master in the game we call Hip Hop. Even though he wanted to be a DJ, writing was his true calling and started at the age of 14. Gem being street educated and born with the mind of a hustler helped him perfect his craft and become the lyricist that he is today. In 2002, International Gem released his first mixtape hosted by DJ Sus 1. With the steady incline in his fan base, he followed up his first mixtape with “Who Dare Move Me?” in 2008, “Thoughts of a Capricorn” in 2009, and “OT (The Pit Stop) in 2010. With his music generating a buzz in and around the New York area, he has headline shows from New York to Atlanta, building a following in every city he has performed in. International Gem talents go beyond music. He is a hustler in every sense of the word and being the businessman that he is and true lover of hip hop, he co-founded Greenleaf Multimedia in 2009 and has had much success since its inception. Currently, International Gem is working on his EP and grinding hard to leave his and Greenleaf Multimedia print on the Hip Hop world. When asked his feelings about the state of Hip Hop, he replied“…rap has been lost for awhile and I’m here to keep real Hip Hop alive
