Death Decay Magic invites The Hacker, Cardopusher, Man 2.0 and Adrian Marth to remix tracks from the first three releases on the imprint, illustrating the label's blueprint perfectly: raw, edgy synth music with ghostly vocals; one foot in techno, the other stepping out into the unknown. Italo Moderni label boss Adrian Marth follows with an interpretation of "Bank For God" as the spiralling EBM sonics flow vigorously and the drilling rhythms get to work underneath.

'Shadowland' is Marguerite Records’s 11th release, kindly provided by Francesco Baudazzi, the mastermind behind Diana Berti and Violet Poison and other countless wonderful musical aliases.

Slowly emerging from the Ligurian Sea waters, A side comes from the mysterious Diana Berti; the opening track is a minimal synth with industrial attitude jam called 'I wanna spend the night with you', followed up by the melancholic italo-wave affair 'Lonely soul' on A2. Closing the first side is the retro cinematic high-tension roller 'Mistral'.
On the flip side Francesco summons his Violet Poison alias with 2 dancefloor ready tracks: B1 - the title track, 'Shadowland', - a mutant jam that you will absolutely love if you dig the Smersh, and the atmospheric new-beatish cut 'The Mistake'.
Closing up the EP is the clumsy wave 'There will be always hope', a heartfull positive hymn for the new-romantics, inspired by Italian new wave bands from the 80’s such as Victrola and 2+2=5.

PREMIERE // Diana Berti - Lonely Souls [Marguerite Records]

Forever lost single track from Caroline K real name Caroline Kaye Walters - founder member of Nocturnal Emissions, one of the best UK experimental/industrial music groups in the 1980s. Conceived at her Brixton studio in 1983 during the same sessions of "Don't Believe It's Over, "Mirrorball" sounds heavily inspired by "Blue Monday" from New Order, unveiling an unexpected pop side from the British experimental artist, here with the help of Beverley Ireland at the voice.

Caroline Kaye Walters formed Nocturnal Emissions in 1980 with Nigel Ayers, contributing voice, synthesizer, bass and drum programming to the group’s early releases. She and Ayers also co-founded Sterile Records (1979-1986), one of the key underground imprints of its time, home to music from the likes of SPK, Lustmord and Maurizio Bianchi. In later life Walters retreated from the public eye, and in 2001 married Daniel Ayers (Nigel’s brother, also of Nocturnal Emissions, and her collaborator in The Pump), moving to Garfagnana, Italy, where she resided until her death from leukaemia on July 12, 2008.

Mannequin Records head Alessandro Adriani goes once again at the remix duties with a nearly 7 minute minimal-electro-balearic remix, overheating his Roland Tr-808/909/707 with delays reverbs and flangers and updating the original track for the dance...  more

Summer 2021 sees the fourth in the Frigio Allstars series hitting all respectable shelves Jack Carel opens the 12” with the acid burning grunge of “Fuck This Shit” followed by Sons of Traders with the chugging 4/4 nastiness of “A for All.” A trippy, dark industrial streak runs inthe snares and swagger of Rambal Cochet’s “Doomsday Scenario Interface” and in the powerful introspection of Daniel Holt’s “The Recluse.” Neud Photo arrives on Frigio with a menacing debut, “The Split” which pierces a haze of smoke in this late-night floor-filler. Honored Matres who appeared on the first volume of these series, returns with the blackest of the compilation. Machine gun percussion close the 12” with Chris Mitchell offering the chopped and gnawed “Alsina.

PREMIERE #628 | Chris Davis - Travelling Into The Abyss (Rude 66 Remix) [Electronic Emergencies]

The phone buzzed continuously on the table, its loud vibrations resounding around the room. It would stop only for a moment before beginning again. She didn't plan on answering, but she wanted him to know she was in control. He'd sworn her a promise, forged an unbreakable bond but he'd thrown it all away. It was time for her to flip the switch.

French label Public System Recordings look to Brooklyn for their first release of the decade, this time from Lost Soul Enterprises boss R Gamble. The solo EP follows his track contribution at the end of 2019 to the label's Archives Du Coeur Humain compilation, which also featured 15 tracks from the likes of Trenton Chase, Pasiphae and Job Sifre. This debut solo effort for PSR, titled Sever The Ties, offers five original tracks of motoric rhythms and abrasive synth-lines layered with R Gamble's signature distorted vocals. "A secret weapon for the industrial synth freaks!"
