Nick Hanzo's EP "Frequent Habits," takes listeners on a trip into his primary passion — exploring different frequencies that evolve into a dance-inducing art form. Each track showcases Hanzo's skill in weaving electronic beats and intricate melodies, creating a sonic potion that invites the audience to lose themselves in the rhythm. With a remarkable talent for discovering new soundscapes, the head of Belly Dance Services demonstrates his eclectic approach that shines through the EP, fluidly coalescing electronic beats and intricate melodies.

The inclusion of remixes by Latin American artists adds an extra layer of diversity to the EP. Balam, an Argentinian producer/DJ, brings an acid interpretation, suggesting a different flavor to Hanzo's original track. Following that, the dynamic girl duo Moozeic from Brazil offers a remix with a unique and psychedelic sound, contributing their own twist to the musical journey. Lastly, Ludviq, the label head, closes the EP with a trippy version and a clubby vibe for "Frequent Habits," showcasing his take on the original tracks.

The third release on Derek Russo’s own Broad Channel imprint “Special Occasion" EP arrives loaded with a wide palate of club swagger for any hour of the party. “Celestial Machine” is the A1 rough and rumbling trip, steered by a wiggly SH101 bass line and anchored by a thunderous sub bass and tenacious, rattling percussion. A floating pad briefly takes the edge off before lurching back. The sounds here are inspired and shaped by the aching cacophony of city life. “Yearning 4 Love” marries a Detroit inspired motif, with tasteful synth layering and bouncy, off-kilter drum programming. The result is an inquisitive banger, something different for the modern dance floor.

On the flip side, the title track ‘Special Occasion’ drops the tempo to a chugging rhythm that swings from a funky break tucked underneath. Deranged piano chords open up to a sinister synth line, jangling guitar and a thick 80s bass line. The final track “Planet Sunset” closes out this EP with a soaring, introspective synth floating on top of a rolling breakbeat groove, disco fed bass work and Juno stabs that resolves into a wave of oozy pad chords - a sure piece for the late night discerning dance floor.

Dresden-based DJ and producer @AcidAdams collects four acid monsters, both from the glorious nineties and from a multi-layered present. The result is a record that dives deep into acid wonderland and bridges the gap between scene’s veterans and the new generation.

After Acid Adams discovered two forgotten acid tracks from the early nineties while digging for new music, the plan for this compilation slowly matured. While it was meant to be a tribute to every bird’s favorite genre, it shouldn’t be just a showcase for older tracks. Therefore, two new tracks were added to join the tracks by Nihilist and ADSX which have never been released on vinyl before. Each of the new productions is inspired by one of the older tracks, not in the sense of a remix or edit, but as a kind of homage to that particular squawking analog sound we all know and love. The energy and pace of these four unique tracks reaches from ambient to dance floor focused bangers.

According to the circumstances of scene and society at that time, the two older tracks were produced by (cis)men. That’s why, it was especially important to Acid Adams that the new tracks were produced by flinta* artists: softcoresoft is a DJ and producer from Canada, who has already released on Lobster Theremin. With Ida Bux, a native of Bautzen who now lives and works in Berlin, we connect the dots to a younger generation that is getting back into analog production setups. Both artists have in common that they have dealt extensively with the oldschool sound of the 90s in shaping their own sounds.

To round off the release properly, Saxony based illustrator frieedland has designed a matching sticker in the typical 90s style. And for those who can't get enough of acid: There's a digital bonus track by ADSX.

Moscow-based producer Andrei Orlov comes back with his next release for Opilec Music. Andrei is inspired by the late 70s and early 80s – the era's sonic footprint ranging from melodic synthesizer music, French and Italian pop, to electronic disco, electro and italo. 'It's a Nice Night For Surfing' is a cheerful uptempo guitar-infused track, influenced by the sound of that period (think of Alan Parson’s Project among others), with a modern twist. Live drums are played by one of Russia’s most talented and proficient jazz and rock drummers Sasha Zinger. Recorded at Igor Matvienko studio in November 2019, mixed by Ilya Mazaev. 7 mixes "Sunday Melodies" EP will be available from May 18th.
