Perched on a crossroads, Pin Up Club approaches electronic music with a magpie’s nature. A spread of styles has been picked, plucked and plundered to make ‘Friends Of The Vortex’. The title piece snaps with clean beats as Blade Runner bars build with an energy that can only be described as palpable. Latin percussion and samples get the groove going for ‘Children Of The Void’. Flirting, the tone twirls and turns. Keys are big and full bodied, balanced perfectly by the crack of a snare. ‘Out Of The Unknown’ closes. A slow burning piece brimming with brooding cinematic shapes and strings, a work that shows the colder edge of this dutch duo. Quality through and through.

After releasing the Last Train To Marzahn EP in 2016, I’m a Cliché boss Cosmo Vitelli is back with the label’s first release of 2017, CLICHÉ066.

The Cemetery of Unsigned House Tracks
Clocking at 9 minutes, don’t get fooled by the track’s tongue-in-cheek title, we’re dealing here with a seriously epic tune. Set in an endlessly rising motion, the track begins with a refined but twisted vibe, sparse but ominous guitars and plenty of FX. Gradually, an infectious synth arpeggio rises and carries with it the whole track, some sort of hypnotic and sensual monster, utterly irresistible on the dancefloor.

El Si Señor (Skinny version)
If you think this track is just a tool, then you’re only getting half of the picture. Skinny but chock-full of melodic and percussive content with a plodding rhythmic section moving at around 105 BPM. This is a downtempo track where heartfelt melodies, sound effects, and pristine seamless arrangements are used with great results by Cosmo Vitelli.

When Suddenly : Acid
With Cosmo Vitelli’s trademark style being eclectism, it’s pointless to pin down this track to a specific genre. Borrowing from the kind of disco not disco and acid-without-303 vibes that I’m a Cliché is famous for, this is an instantly gratifying tune where synthesizers are engaged in call and response melodies in an elegant take on the idea of machine funk. The result is catchy, refreshing and primed for the dancefloor.

El Si Señor (Soundtrack Version)
With melodies that are more expansive and at the fore, leaving the rhythmic section discernible but clearly in the background, this version of El Si Senor is a reference to 70s film music, and this bittersweet tune closes the EP in style.

Eclectic roster addition Nova Materia closes the release with “Speak in Tongues.” Utilizing the original’s "found sounds," ALI X x XIMENA also make their label debut. As the founding member of Azari & III, Ali’s roots mixing house and rock certainly run deep. The duo’s remix thus evokes grainy synths, eerie vox and more lively instrumentation.

Premiere: Nova Materia - Speak in Tongues (ALI X x XIMENA Remix) [United Colors of Rhythm]

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Marina Aleksandra. “Animal Industrial Complex" (Radolph & Mortimer Remix) is a work of pure fire which came to fruition in September 2019 when Marina contributed a slamming techno remix to R&M’s Exclude/Divide single, a massive remix that was featured in DJ sets around the globe and helped propel the single to the top of the  genre best sellers charts on Bandcamp.  Now the favor has been returned. R&M have taken Marina’s epic Techno original and re-worked it into a high energy EBM/Electro thrasher - taking Marina’s provocative vocal and looping it over raw synths and huge kicks and snares. This is peak time business for all the shutdown dance floors in the pandemic age. For the past couple years Aleksandra has been destroying clubs across Europe with her brvtalizing sound and high intensity DJ sets. This track proves once again why she has become one of our favorite artists to watch and you will definitely be hearing more from her soon on The Brvtalist.

Joining a growing spectrum of Mexico City’s dystopic underground scene, his driving beats send you into a dreamlike goth skating rink reminiscent of The Hunger’s Bauhaus and Egyptian Lover grooves combined with his own rhythmic chaos that makes your body pulse and move.

Chinosynth is a musician and producer born in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, his musical project has the ancestral influence of Rock until what is now known as electronic music, his natural instrument are synthesizers, in his productions organic guitars and basses predominate where his brother collaborates Yamil multi instrumentalist session musician.

The Big City was born from my impulse to leave my hometown of Culiacan, Sinaloa, in search of better opportunities in all areas and aspects of my life, I do not look at my past with hatred, I just accept what is in it for me as my current present.

The sounds used are the urbanization of my emotions and the new vision that the construction of this production generated for me at that time, the instruments used are my KORG machines and the recording of voices of my muses.

Since we are all still living in these peculiar times, Logical’s next release comes along with the intention of offering something different from what the label has been putting out there so far in the last years. The first release of 2021 and the first LP ever published by the label is brought to us by the debutants Kawasaki Johnsson, an Amsterdam based duo who delivered a downtempo dark-driven eight-tracker where the main protagonist is the “nostalgia” of brighter times . 



The opening track begins as we embark on this expedition where we are going to experience different emotions in an hour-long voyage built by mixing the influence of Krautrock, Acid, Synthpop and early 90’s sounds, altogether combined into a powerful Darkwave mix where each track has its own personality and color.
