Were there other worlds out there we didn't know about? Worlds where people who looked and spoke just like us were going about their daily business as we were on earth. Worlds that were still affected by wars and famine, poverty and injustice; worlds that were full of love and passion, ambition and hope. Perhaps there were... It's unlikely we'd ever know, but we could continue to imagine. 

Last July Atomnation brought us the debut album from Intercept head honcho Coloray. Future Static was a fusion of bright synths and elegant grooves, full of colour and emotion. As an appendix to the release the label have invited three artists to offer up their own interpretations of tracks from the album: namely Intercept label mate Baril, Atomnation alumni Sam Goku and CPU producer Nadia Struiwigh. Our pick is from Sam who takes 'Line Break' into cosmic realms with shimmering synths and soaring chords that lift us up into the atmos.

Based in London he runs with KLIMAS the Label LEMPA Rec. This Year he already released some dope tracks and EPs on Record Labels like by Musique Concrete, TR4R, LEMPA Rec. and CLAP VISIONS.

One of those is Alma Marceau. The co-founder of Desert Land Festival delivers here an euphoric breakbeat track, which works as much on your warm-up and your closing. Navigating regularly between house, italo and techno, the producer delivers here his first production, with lot of love, melancholy and energy.

Rotterdam's Vault Wax returns in June with label boss Beyun dropping four tracks of beautifully crafted Acid-infused Electro, through her Spectral Calibration EP, a dignified follow up of Black Cadmium's Our Legacy EP last year. The pacey opener is the EPs title track, namely Spectral Calibration, breaky percussion and Acid with a hint of delay, giving spacial width in the grooves. Subtle bleeps and pads all merge to provide a gorgeously hazy feel throughout as the track rolls along. 

Beyun's Spectral Calibration EP is released on Vault Wax on June 6th, 2022.

Mind Dance return with the second volume in their ‘Mystic Minds’ VA series. Launched last year as a way to continue the strong collaborative nature of the electronic music underground, each installment will shine a light on local Australian talent and their cross-continental contemporaries.
