Label heads So.undso return once again on the Munich imprint Dance Petrol Records with their latest EP "Alte Spuren“! The EP features four original tracks, resulting from their latest experiments with elements from breakbeat, electronica, acid, electro and house.
The lead track „Gruppentour“ sets the tone for the EP with its driving breakbeat rhythms, infectious synth melodies, and expertly crafted transitions. From the upbeat and energetic "Gruppentour," to the moody and introspective „Stromabwärts“ continues the journey with its pulsing basslines, haunting vocals, and intricate percussion, creating a dark and brooding atmosphere, spiked with broken rhythms.
The second half of the EP starts of with the experimental and unpredictable "Alte Spuren und ungeahnte Schwierigkeiten“ diving into a more experimental approach, incorporating elements of acid and glitch into its ever-evolving soundscape. Slow-burning and hypnotic "Gedränge vor der Fähre“ closes of So.undso latest experiments in the fields of electronic music with slow and moody grooves, laced with haunting vocals and atmospheric pads. In our little history, the number 7, besides a kind of esoteric fascination, has marked important milestones in our evolutionary journey. This is why Raw Culture has decided to pay homage in grand style to its seventh year as an independent sound guarantor. To do so, it weaves a co-production with Oderso Rubini, historical memory of the Italian New Wave and head of Italian Records in the 80s. Out of this synergy comes our 24th release, Ping Pong, a dancefloor of dissonant bounces, where free-form suggestions, electronics and rhythmic improvisation find synthesis in a high-intensity competitive match. Starting from the sampling of Korean ping pong matches and the voices of the speakers, Renzini and Passini build a framework where the sound or voice of the electronically harmonised hoover amalgamates with powerful and syncopated drumming, a sound experiment poised between improvisational heavy jazz and Korean-style electronics.
The record is ideally divided into two converging visions highlighting the duplicity of the game, side A or Master Ping collects the first improvisations made by the duo in 2018 leaving almost unchanged the improvisational spirit close to a kind of degenerate free jazz. Side B or Master Pong made later explores more musical forms, with influences of the krautrock and electronic disco matrix, and sees the collaboration with other musicians from Bologna's historic rock scene such as Gianluca Patini (Surprize, Slava Trudu, Volkwerk Folletto) on guitars, Giorgio Lavagna on vocals (Gaznevada, Stupid Set) and Enrico Serotti on electronic samples (Confusional Quartet, Stupid Set).
The album is a limited edition of 270 copies (+ 30 in deluxe format, with an extra-spacious cloth cover, brass ping pong players' medals and various numbered and signed inserts) to be released in October 2023.

Adding to e’s club-oriented Y-series is a 3-track E.P by French producer, Jader Toya: Amartya/Pompeï. Jader Toya’s contribution to the Y-Series results in its most off-kilter release yet: A club music offering with influences from all over the globe mixed with a healthy dose of deconstructed structures. Futuristic synth lines, robotic vocal chops and chaotic rhythms are the main ingredients used by Jader Toya to cook up this lethal concoction.
The E.P starts by getting straight into it with Amartya, a title that seems to reflect the Oriental-sounding vocals found all over this track, a banger that starts off with a more minimal syncopated drum line but uses ominous melodies to progress the track. The track Pompeï continues its predecessor’s tradition with a more melodic approach with the rhythmic side taking the backseat. The final track of the E.P, a stripped-back dub version of Pompeï, reverses this approach with the melodies being used sparsely which lets Jader Toya’s chaotic approach to rhythm shine more. This dark deconstructed approach to club music proves to be a nice addition to the Y-series’ eclectic identity

Cacao Beach is a surreal synth sound that is a trippy and wonky mix of intoxicating electronica, techno, and newbeat music. One of the standout tracks on this release is ""Cacao Beach"". It's a driving and tantalizing bass tune with a melody stuck in your head that won't leave you indifferent. The remix by our resident Moonoton adds even more drive and makes it a club new beat hit.

If you want to go on a high-energy night journey, the track ""Flight In The Night"" is perfect for that. The remix by Yakovets makes this track even more hypnotic as if you were in Gaspar Noé's films.

And the closing track ""Silver Pan"" is a real techno-thriller that will keep you in your seat. The bass line of this track just grabs you and doesn't let you go until the end."
