A year and a half after its first release, Pilote, Syrinx Music is back with another V/A release, Ballast. Meanwhile, Syrinx set various events up in the Paris area, and took great care of this new EP. Just as the device it takes its name from, Ballast aims to find a balance in contrast, in line with Syrinx’s aesthetics: an open vision of electronic music, linking both club & experimental dimensions.
On Ballast, this contrast goes with the idea of duality. The A Side of the vinyl (pressed as a dubplate in a very limited edition) gathers three artists of the most adventurous side of the French bass scene. Cyberlife kicks things up with an atmospheric and aerial breakbeat track.

On February 25th, Palms Out will release the first in a series of compilations on cassette and digital. Titled plainly: "End Broken Windows Vol. 1", 100% of the proceeds of the series will go to charity in an effort to raise awareness about broken windows policing methods. Specifically, I hope to contribute to spreading the word about the ways in which policing and prosecuting low-level offenses serves as a way of terrorizing and traumatizing vulnerable populations, without achieving the intended goal of preventing violent crime. The theoretical premise of broken windows policing is fundamentally flawed, and woefully misguided -- there is no evidence that focusing police power on low level violations like sex work, loitering, minor vandalism, petit theft, low level drug offenses, etc. leads to any reduction in violent crime. The practice must end.
Each volume of the series will benefit a different charity doing work to counteract the effects of broken windows policing; all it really does is criminalize being black, trans, queer, young, unhoused, etc. The first volume will benefit the SBB National Sex Worker Bail Fund (swopbehindbars.org/donate), as sex workers are often intersectionally and inordinately affected by these practices.
Musically and conceptually, this record is inspired by a place where broken windows policing is disproportionately felt: the subway/metro. I gave all of the artists the vague prompt to write music inspired by the NYC subway system -- and the results were expectedly varying. For this volume, I pursued artists who have been generally exploring midtempo dance music without focus on 4 to the floor drum patterns. The result was a collection of largely breakbeat-oriented songs, some with direct classic NYC & Detroit electro references, others with more melodic and euphoric UK hardcore inspiration, and others still that kind of split the difference between modern bass and Baltimore club (for lack of better descriptors).

He mangles the sounds and rhythms of his surroundings without limits and builds his own bittersweet world from them. Hodge's remix turns the track 'I Don't Know What I Want' into a ukg-esque dancefloor killer.

Veslemes’ follow up album to Apoltihoma (Invisible Inc. 2021) is a sonic excursion to the primordial routes of rhythm filtered by his speculations about the kinky habits of everyday life back in ancient Greek. Relics of the subculture of the 70s and the 80s are also evident here through his adoration for sci-fi l, obscure lost films and vaporish dance music. 
Veslemes aka Felizol has released music for the likes of Optimo music, Into The Light, Byrd Out, Invisible Inc, Macadam Mambo, Rotten City and more. Currently based in Athens and having filmmaking and composing as his main activities this is his first release for the upcoming Greek electronic label Won Ton that recently produced the collab project of Metaman with Lena Platonos.

Hun Hun are 28-year-old twin brothers Jimmy and Noé Moens from Brussels, Belgium. They grew up in a musical household since their father is a multi- instrumentalist who played in many bands, such as Bai Kamara Jr. and others. Then, a trip in Turkey opened their eyes to other musical horizons.
At the edge of the what they called the “Galataxy”, they are inspired by old Turkish b- movies and like to explore the eastern side of psychedelia, while remaining firmly grounded by their love of kosmische music.
Their debut LP for Lurid Music features twelve original tracks of a cinematic Anatolian nature, transporting you to the dusty cobblestone streets of the Near East while simultaneously propelling you to the outer regions of space.
