'Aggelos first approached Lurid Music with the idea for this project a few months ago. We agreed on one condition, that all proceeds be donated to refugee causes, like we did with his Black Sea EP which supported the Syrian refugee crisis. When Russia invaded Ukraine, we decided our focus had to be helping the Ukrainian refugees who were forced to leave their homes in search of safe havens abroad.

We discussed this with most contributors to the project and the consensus was that donations should strictly go to humanitarian groups and not any armament funds. There were also some thoughts about helping conflict-affected peoples in other parts of the world but we decided it was too much to tackle for a relatively small project like this one.

Therefore, donations stemming from the sales of this release will be distributed to the following humanitarian groups currently active in Ukraine or neighboring countries welcoming refugees:

The artwork was provided by Bill Brown, a Maryland native who lives and works in Ukraine. When the war started, he made his way safely to Germany via Poland. This illustration is an homage to Maria Prymachenko’s “May That Nuclear War be Cursed!”, which also inspired the title of this release. Panta Rex was introduced to me due to his output on Noorden. When I moved to Cologne I was looking for people to start doing music with and Alex from Noorden introduced me to him. Soon he started to show me more of his music. 
I instantly felt in love with Dyade which is a beautiful song to end a set with that lasted the whole night and is ending when the sun is already shining again. By the way the working title of this beautiful song was dtf-uia.  
Youth in the 90s shows you where Panta Rex got his musical background from and it is a homage back to the golden times after the fall of the wall and all the never ending parties. 
Critter is a club hit with a long build-up and a drop that is unique in its own way, that lets you expect something different and it is also hitting very hard. 
Lares in the end is one of those songs that feels like an old Workshop record. House at its best and with lyrics brought onto point.
