LiBL are proud to present the imprint's second iteration from Lakumer & Z Axis. 4 tracks channelling a variety of styles, influenced by Aquarian Foundation, STL, CV313 & Marcellus Pittman.
Z Axis - CCOFB is a saturated space odyssey opening beat-less with a mutating arpeggiated Moog bass and reflecting synth leads. The track unravels to the arrival of a low-cut pad, changing the atmosphere as the Rhodes piano kicks off to the welcoming arrival of the kick drum only to divert back to the reflecting synth leads, creating a mesmerising but sinister feel.

Greg Foat is one of the UK’s leading jazz pianists, composers and music producers who has worked with a diverse selection of musicians including Moses Boyd, Bob Lind, Curtis Lundy, Rita Ora, Questlove, Lady Blackbird and The Kooks. In recent years he’s recorded for Jazzman Records, Athens of The North and Strut. Something of a musical maverick, his solo and collaborative albums touch on everything from spiritual jazz, library music and soundtrack sounds, to Balearic beats, jazz-funk, and deep house.

On this release Greg Foat deviates into the world of Detroit deep techno, utilizing his arsenal of obscure 80’s synths. On hearing the original ‘Psychosynthesis’ from Greg’s album (released on Blue Crystal records), Ross thought it needed a remix to make it the epic techno cut that it so obviously is waiting to be! To do this, Ross brings in Beyonce collaborator Foremost Poets, plus the musical genius that is Crooked Man who gets to grips with it too. Psychosynthesis Part 1 & 2 just dropped on the 5th August. New Jersey DJ & producer Foremost Poets Remix lands 26th August, then legendary Sheffield producer Crooked Man further shines a light on the track, his Crooked Man Remixes following on in September. It’s all out on Foundation Music!

Solenoid is back with SLN019, this time Label owner Erta Ale shares the sides with the welcomed Italian duo we.amps. Connection, vibrations and affinity - all aspects that bring together a remarkable release between the two producers. 'Suck my/ Oblivious' is the perfect example of the meaning of connection and keeping true to one's own “style”.
'Drummy ya' is the essence of being eclectic and simultaneously dance floor oriented . A stormy chord combined with a twisty acid melody that clashes on the unexpected vocal break, moving onto the second part of the track where a stormy loop becomes raw and gritty yet arranged in an intentional and accurate manner.
'Suck my' is fast and "break" with a 4/4 beat making the arrangement experienced , at the same time , the electro baseline with the deep male vocal, throws the listener into its vortex of sound.
Side B showcases Erta's experimental breakbeat track “Oblivious” , perfect for a sophisticated dance floor or a radio podcast.
The last track “Odyssey” is one of the most intimate and hypnotic tracks by the record label owner. An atmospheric and even sentimental track which was created during his last South African tour.

Fragments of Tomorrow

CONTEXT & ENERGY:
This work is a demo (WIP) of a future track which is inspired by the manipura chakra (the inner fire). It is a rather energetic and dancing moment in the Koundal live show with Gwam.
You might have been able to hear a glimpse in the souvenir video of our recent gig at the St Felix de Montceau Abbaye, by Montpellier (France).

THE INSTRUMENTS:
The Rhythm lies on a strong base: a big B sub bass and an electro kick, with a tempo of 100 bpm, sustained with different types of maracas. The World edge is given by the added djembe as an oriental percussion and the didgeridoo which sets a rather hypnotizing and atmospheric background. The main melody is led by an native ameridian flute.

CONTEXTE & ÉNERGIE :
Ceci est une démo de travail (WIP) pour un futur morceau qui puise son inspiration dans le chakra Manipura (le feu intérieur). C'est le moment le plus énergique et dansant de notre spectacle live Koundal & Gwam.

Vous avez pu en entendre un aperçu dans la vidéo souvenir de notre passage à l'Abbaye St Félix de Montceau !

LES INSTRUMENTS :
Le rythme repose sur une base puissante : une grosse Sub Bass en Si (B) et un kick très électro à 100 BPM, soutenus par des maracas. Le côté World est donné par le djembe joué comme une percussion orientale et le didge qui pose une toile de fond hypnotique. La mélodie principale est portée par la flûte amérindienne.

VOTRE AVIS EST CRUCIAL !
* Pensez-vous que l'équilibre entre la grosse Sub Bass et le djembe oriental fonctionne bien ?
* Le tempo de 100 BPM est-il idéal pour cet effet de transe dansante ?
