My mother was always spinning his records when I was a kid so I have a built-in soft spot for him and his music. I feel that he comes from a very dark and sad place, but his music is always filled with such hope. I admire that. I've always wanted to learn a tune of his but was always so intimidated by his guitar playing. Releasing this latest record of mine has somehow given me some gusto, some carelessness. It feels good to just play. Here's one I wish I wrote.

One Take Sessions is my practice to get outside my head and not overthink perfection.. take all the fumbles in my fingertips and cracks in my voice and enjoy the song in its rawest form

Hibshi - Cold Beer (feat. AiMEE)

Yay! So pumped to finally release this track. I wanted to do something totally different and fresh. The idea was to only use sounds that mimicked real instrumentation. To produce a track that could be played live with a band or orchestral, but still embodied dance music components. 

It just so happened that when I started on the idea, we were staying in a house right off the Ocean. I feel like that really contributed to the vibe of the song. Next time you're at the beach, on a boat, or by the pool, I hope you get to reflect on life and the beauty wrapped up in this crazy ride. If this song can be a small part of that... well... that makes my very happy : )
