This project is a blend of all my experiences, especially from time Asia last year. “Laputa” is taken from the film “Castle in the Sky,” one of the many Miyazaki films that my sister and I love and have watched well over 100 times (highly recommend). I tried to capture the essence of the floating island in the sky-the place that serves as the setting for the main character in the film. In the story, the characters strive to reach a specific goal, getting to this “castle in the sky”, and that’s the core idea of my project: preparation for a journey toward an end goal whether in the physical world or not.
I wanted to create something that could serve as a soundtrack for your own journey, whether you’re physically traveling on an airplane or embarking on any significant personal goal or challenge. This project is meant to accompany you during that journey, guiding you through the process. I hope this mixtape can be the soundtrack that inspires and supports you as you work toward your own destination, whatever that may be. 🧳🔮
