The Deep

Coming from the traffic-saturated streets and lo-fi screamo scene of Mexico City, rising producer Max Jones makes his debut on Correspondant with the Cornetto EP. 

Lead cut “Cornetto” starts things off in the label’s signature style of deep, dark dancefloor warmups, with a live-feel percussive line and foggy drones shot through with confrontational midrange sirens. “Uh Oh” opens at a clip with an electrified, alien pulse, but keeps to the stripped-back core elements of thrashing cymbals and two alternating vocal samples. “Slow feat. Mijo” finds Jones teaming up with ongoing collaborator Alec Sander in a sinister, new wave-inspired cut, built around a narcotic vocal mantra and resonant, oscillating synths, while the minimal, throbbing bassline of “L.M.M” follows its own trail into a sonic wormhole, offset by crispy hi-hats to round out the EP. 

Cornetto follows previous label releases Polina, from Agents of Time, and The Ballroom collaborative 12” from Jennifer Cardini and David Shaw, and will see a vinyl and digital release on September 22.

Detailverliebt in seiner leidenschaftlicher Begeisterung kreativer Zusammenstellung und Mischung von tanzbaren, vorantreibenden und basslastigen Melodic-Deep-House Elementen aufgemischt mit viel melancholischen-melodischen Leads, sorgt Sensual Delight für eine rührselige, herzergreifende und seelenvolle Stimmung. Denn er versteht in seiner Inspiration den Rhythmus, d.h. auf den Rhythmus des eigenen Tuns zu achten und nicht nur dem vorgegeben Takt zu folgen. Sein Talent und intuitiver Stil erreignet sich durch seine Passion zur Musik, was er nicht nur gekonnt macht, sondern es durch seinen individuellen Charakter zum Ausdruck bringt.

Die Trackauslese ist willkürlich von etwas älteren besonderen Vinyls (ab 2014) selektiert worden, welche aus dieser Zeit viele exklusive Lieblingsperlen repräsentieren. Diesen Podcast, welchen ich mit analoger Technik aufgelegt habe wird „endgültig“ der letzte sein, weil das Pool von Vinyl gegenüber den digitalen Tracks wesentlich geringer ist und ich dadurch meinen charakteristischen Stil nicht korrekt reflektieren kann. Der nächste Podcast den ich hoffentlich bei Denny’s und Alexander’s (Herz & Klang) Plattform „Serenity Heartbeat“ Ende dieses Jahres mache, wäre dann wieder digital aufgelegt, d.h. es wird dann wieder mehr in die melancholisch-melodische Deep-Melodic-House Richtung gehen, in welchen ich meinen persönlichen Stil frei entfalten kann. Mein Podcast besteht aus zwei Parts, wobei im ersten Part populäre klassische Tracks enthalten sind, z.B. von Jonas Mantey, Dillon, Chopstick & Johnjon, Mano Le Though, Kölsch und Daniel Bortz sowie Remixe von Nico Pusch, Sasse, Dixon und Marceo Plex.  Der zweite Part beinhaltet eher unbekannte aber sehr beliebte und originellen Tracks, wie von Rico Puestel, Marius Drescher, Pang! und Just Emma.

Anfang 2020 zog ein Sturm übers Land.
Kein Tornado, kein Hurrikan, sondern das Virus COVID-19 genannt.
Chaos und Angst machten sich weltweit breit,
fehlende Schutzausrüstung entfachte international Streit.

Regierungen handelten ohne Sinn und Verstand,
war eine Bedrohung solchen Ausmaßes doch bisher unbekannt.
Ein globaler Shutdown war die Folge und die einzige Option,
hohe Sterberaten zu vermeiden durch soziale Isolation.

Durch die Abschottung rund um den Globus,
besannen wir uns wieder auf alte Werte.
Hilfsbereitschaft und Menschlichkeit rückten zunehmend in den Fokus,
obwohl die Vereinzelung diese Anstrengungen enorm erschwerte.

Wir halfen einander, standen füreinander ein,
wir wollten nie wieder ohne Familie und ohne Freunde sein.
Bei all dem Schmerz, bei all dem Leid,
machte sich eine große Erkenntnis breit.
Manchmal braucht es Extreme um zu verstehen,
dass Familie, Freund und Gesundheit über ALLEM stehen.
