BAMBALAM – muzikinis vilniečių duetas, kurį sudaro Laimonas Staniulionis (perkusija: cajon, djembe, udu, asalato, Rav Vast, pandeiro, frame drum, ocean drum, log drum, kalimba) ir Julija Ritčik (vokalas, akustinė gitara, perkusija). Muzikantai gerai žinomi kaip grupės 4FUN 'varomoji jėga': Julija yra dainų autorė ir pagrindinė grupės vokalistė, o Laimonas – būgnininkas ir prodiuseris. Muzikantai taip pat yra koncertavę su daugybe kitų kolektyvų, o 2007 metais 4FUN atstovavo Lietuvai Eurovizijos dainų konkurso finale Helsinkyje.

Duetas viešai debiutavo 2017 m. birželį, kai Laimonas, turintis aistrą egzotiškiems perkusiniams instrumentams ir sukaupęs gausią jų kolekciją, dalyvavo tarptautiniame ispaniškos perkusijos 'cajon' (lietuviškai - kachono) konkurse „Golden Cajon Award“. Konkursui pateiktas amerikiečių tradicinis kūrinis „Black Betty“, Laimono aranžuotas perkusijai ir vokalui, laimėjo nominacijoje „Kachono pasirodymas su grupe“. Tai įkvėpė Juliją ir Laimoną įgyvendinti seniai brandintą sumanymą dviese sukurti muzikinę programą, kurios pagrindas yra įdomiausi Laimono perkusiniai instrumentai  ir Julijos vokalas, bei įrašyti ją ir išleisti EP (mini albumo) formatu. Duetas taip atrinktas pasirodymui „Galapagai 2017“ festyvalyje kaip vienas iš dešimties festivalio ir asociacijų M.A.M.A. bei AGATA rengiamo konkurso „AGATA proveržis“ dalyvių. 

Pavadinimą „Bambalam“ davė žodžis, besikartojantis dueto debiutinės dainos „Black Betty“ kiekvienos teksto eilutės pabaigoje ir skambesiu primenantis būgnų ar perkusijos ritmą.

BAMBALAM

BAMBALAM is a music duo from Vilnius, Lithuania, consisting of Laimonas Staniulionis (percussion: cajon, djembe, udu, asalato, Rav Vast, pandeiro, frame drum, ocean drum, log drum, kalimba) and Julija Ritčik (vocal, acoustic guitar, percussion). Both musicians are well known as 'the driving force' behind Lithuanian band 4FUN, which represented Lithuania in 2007 Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki. Julija is the lead singer and songwriter of the band and Laimonas is the drummer and producer.

The duo first appeared on public in June 2017, when Laimonas, who's got a genuine passion for exotic percussion instruments, took part in the international 'cajon' percussion contest “Golden Cajon Award“. The entry “Black Betty“, an African-American traditional song, arranged by Laimonas for percussion and vocals, won the contest in the nomination “Cajon with the Band”. The win inspired Laimonas and Julija to put into action their long considered idea of making an EP album based on the most interesting percussion instruments used by Laimis and Julia's vocals, which the duo is working on at the moment. BAMBALAM has also been chosen by a jury as one of 10 contestants to perform live on the “Breakthrough” stage of “Galapagai 2017“ international music festival in Lithuania.

The name “Bambalam“ comes from the word 'bam-ba-lam', repeatedly used in the duo's debut song “Black Betty“ lyrics and resembling the sound of drums or percussion rhythm.

“The 4FUN” was formed in 2001 in Vilnius. The group performs in music clubs, festivals and other music events in Lithuania and neighbouring countries.
“The 4FUN” was the biggest success in 2007, when they won the National Eurovision Song Contest and represented Lithuania in ESC final in Helsinki with a ballad “Love or leave” written by the leader of the group Julia Ritchik.
The group have won several LCMA (Lithuanian Country Musicians Association) awards: Julia was the best vocal in 1998, Laimonas was the best instrumentalist in 2005 and the “4FUN” was awarded for the best debut in 2003.
“The 4FUN” have been twice chosen as a support slot – in summer 2007 they opened an American blues and rock veteran Joe Cocker’s performance in Vilnius, in autumn 2008 – a European blues and pop-folk star Katie Melua’s concert in Vilnius.
In 2004”The 4FUN” released their first CD – a live concert album “Gyvas”, which means both ‘live’ and ‘alive’ in Lithuanian. In May 2007 a ‘Eurovisional’ single “Love or leave” was released, which contained the versions of the song in English and Lithuanian and two remixes of the English version. In April 2009 the band released a double album ” Dėlionė”/”A puzzle”, which contains original songs in Lithuanian on one CD and in English on the other CD.
