In the third and final installment of Beyond the Limit remixes this year, we present Allen & Envy, Renato Dinis and Grains of Sound, along with remix contest winners Gabrielle Ag and J Noriega. 

Grains of Sound give the remix their signature progressive psy trance polish. The use of a subtle piano melody is a clever addition. 

A great wrap up to what's proven to be a fantastic series of reworks in 2013!

Boy & Bear - Feeding Line (FDVM Edit)

Sydney duo Mind Over Matter return with new single ‘What They Say’ – featuring the vocal talents of hip hop stalwarts Bliss N Eso.

Recorded locally at Nelson’s Bay and mixed by Craig Bauer (Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West) in Chicago the track has a truly international sound and is taken from the band’s forthcoming third album set for release later this year.

Bliss N Eso are long time touring buddies and friends of Mind Over Matter and will also star in the upcoming video.

Mind Over Matter are Willow AKA Rowan Lockyer and Smiles AKA Martin Brown. After meeting as year 7 classmates in the school yard at St Pius X College, the duo began practicing their freestyle skills together and have been putting in the hard yards ever since.

The duo have toured with some of Australia’s best hip hop talent including Bliss N Eso, 360, Pez and Drapht. Renowned for their narrative wit and smooth moves, Mind Over Matter’s dynamic live shows consistently win them new fans.

The upcoming album also features triple J airplay smash and lead single ‘Real Life’. With vocals by Melbourne singer K.I.K.I, the single peaked at #8 on the iTunes Hip Hop charts in 2013.

First up on remix duties for "Chameleon" is a rather talented chap named Echo Conscious. His take on the release is a bit more unexpected rhythmically, but his willingness to explore a different route in that regard certainly has it's reward. Managing to capture the beautiful core of the original with it's ambient spaces and guitar at the heart of it's momentum is one of the most engaging aspects of what Echo Conscious does so well and a big reason we're happy to have him on this release.

Halftribe - Chameleon (Echo Conscious Remix)

Wrapping up remix work for the "Chameleon" release is a relaxed groove from Atrium label boss, Vital. Quarter time rhythm bits and a focus on the ambient spaces that make the original enjoyable are what lay the foundation for this deep cut. Guitar harmonics, piano twinkles and a few emotional vocal slices drive home the feeling of floating and bring our release full-circle.

I had a dream of landscape and beautiful temples on Saturn.
Imagine the octahedron shape (double pyramid)flying in mid air surrounded with fluffy purple and pink clouds. I was walking inside of one temple (It was beautiful decorated with shapes that are not common to this world, it was order and chaos), got out to some sort of balcony. Then I saw that line of horizon, just mesmerizing.

Kodama(s) are spirits in Japanese folklore that inhabit trees. 
These spirits are considered to nimbly bustle about mountains at will. A kodama's outer appearance is very much like an ordinary tree, but if one attempts to cut it down, one would become cursed etc., and it is thus considered to have some kind of mysterious supernatural power. The knowledge of those trees that have kodama living in them is passed down by the elderly of that area over successive generations and they are protected, and it is also said that trees that have a kodama living in them are of certain species. There is also a theory that when old trees are cut, blood could come forth from them.
