Further notes:
-the 4 voice melodic section in the beginning was recorded in a single pass, each VCO morphing in parallel from a single incoming CV - - you can monitor the slowly changing waves on the display screen

-low drones uses a strongly attenuated 4MS Peg LFO at the lowest speed setting to morph the waveform 

-side pattern made by stacked 5ths, same notes as melody (just faster) mixed via optomix with additional sum routed to E580 delay  

-FM & Clouds modes used throughout for atmospheric treble textures, often hi-passed thru filter  

-used 'high glitching' setting for 'chuffing' industrial sounds in the midsection

- rhythmic 7 beat patterns gated by Rene sequencer accompanied by stacked fifths

River Of Forgetfulness [Treetrunk 387 - "River of Forgetfulness"]

In 1982 my father remarried, and my mother died 5 years later. Although we spoke intermittently, the decades that passed did not resolve the estrangement that had developed between my father and me. It became dramatically clear just how unlikely any reconciliation would be, even as my dad nudged his way into his nineties, when I attended my half-sister's wedding (she's twenty years younger than me) and nobody knew who I was - people said to my father "We didn't know you had a son!" 


I don't know more than a few words of German, but when I heard this clip from a 1930 Walter Ruttmann film ("Weekend"), I heard, or perhaps projected, a vignette portraying an affectionate tie between a young boy and his father that poignantly reminded me of a time when my own father and I were still close.
