South London’s finest pair of Chris’s (Chris Watson and Chris Coupe) are back as FYI Chris with the feel good EP of the summer. Taking in ballroom energy, deep rolling psychedelic techno and sun drenched house, “Elephant Road” is one of their strongest cuts to date. The 4-track EP was released July 12th on Rhythm Section International, a label FYI Chris have worked with numerous times in the past. Rhythm Section International was created in Peckham in 2014 by DJ and radio host Bradley Zero. The label has released an eclectic array of records from artists across the world, but “Elephant Road” is arguably the labels hardest release yet. 

Today's premiere is the track “Daze ft. Simeon Jones”. It feels destined to be an after-party anthem with its atmospheric, trippy grooves and eerie instrumental. “Daze ft. Albert’s Favourites co-founder Adam Scrimshire released his fourth album 'Listeners' in summer 2019. Musically, 'Listeners' draws from Scrimshire's passion for jazz, soul and electronic music of all styles; from an energetic combination of Afrobeat and garage on 'Won't Get Better', to the lushly orchestrated neo-soul of 'Thru You', and the harmonious jazz experimentations of 'I Never'. 

In Spring, Scrimshire releases a huge remix project, featuring Kayla Painter, Hector Plimmer, Red Rack'Em and more. The first remix to be taken from the album is by long-time Scrimshire influence and hero, Nite Jewel. 

Nite Jewel stamps her unique, personal sound all over this version. A digital palette of synths and rhodes playing, drum machines punching through a soul and disco exploration that revels in the sound of Georgia Anne Muldrow's unmistakeable voice. A match made in heaven.

From the moment of its release, the Listeners has generated a huge swell of support, that made many tastemakers' album of the year lists. Listeners has received repeated attention on BBC Radio 6 Music, making Tom Ravenscroft’s recommends playlist, receiving support from Mary Anne Hobbs, Huey Morgan, Steve Lamacq and featuring as an Album of the Day in early August. Scrimshire has provided a guest mix for Ravenscroft’s Friday night show and even visited BBC Radio 2 for a “Take 5” interview with Jamie Cullum.
