Story
History of Khan Kubrat. The Father of the Bulgarian Nation
In the vast steppes between the Black Sea and the Sea of ​​Azov, where the winds carried echoes of ancient migrations, a legendary figure emerged: Khan Kubrat, visionary leader of the Proto-Bulgarians. Born in a time of tribal chaos and Avar domination, Kubrat was able to see beyond the fragmentation. Educated in Constantinople, where he was baptized and given the title of Patrician by Emperor Heraclius, Kubrat absorbed ideas of state and diplomacy.
Founding of Ancient Great Bulgaria (632 AD)
Upon his return, Kubrat took command of the Onogurs, one of the Proto-Bulgarian tribes, and in 632 he achieved the unthinkable: uniting the Bulgarian tribes under a single tribal-military confederation, known as Ancient Great Bulgaria. This new state stretched from the Kuban River to the Donets and Dnieper, with its capital in Phanagoria, on the Taman Peninsula.
A Visionary Leader
Kubrat was not only a warrior, but a statesman. He made a pact with the Byzantine Empire, securing peace and recognition for his kingdom. His leadership halted incursions from neighboring tribes like the Khazars and consolidated a political structure that served as a model for future Bulgarian states.
The Legend of the Bundle of Sticks
Before he died, Kubrat gathered his sons and gave them a bundle of sticks, asking them to break it. None could. Kubrat then broke each stick separately, teaching them that strength lies in unity. This parable became a symbol of Bulgarian national cohesion.
The Treasure of Mala Pereshchepina
In 1912, in the Ukrainian village of Mala Pereshchepina, her tomb was discovered, undisturbed after 13 centuries. The find included more than 20 kg of gold and 50 kg of silver, along with her scepter, saber, and ring bearing the inscription "Patrician," confirming her connection to Byzantium.

Spadčyna explores themes of ancestry, memory, land, seasonal cycles and spiritual heritage, drawing from authentic Belarusian folklore and traditional songs.

This album is intended as a complete listening experience — immersive, ritualistic and rooted in Eastern European folk culture.
