The 50 Measures Project has been a tool for me to learn to use new gear and recording software. As I experiment with different instruments, sounds and effects, this has been a tremendous creative outlet and allowed for me to grow as a musician and artist. 

At no point were there any rules to this project, except that I would (plan to) record 50 measures of music for each song. This was an arbitrary practice early on, as I didn’t know what MIDI was and had not figured out how to sync my analog equipment with my computer or any digital clock source. As a result the true tempo of each song throughout Volume 1 (the first 51 songs), and therefore also the number of measures in the song, is guesstimated or simply unknown. You’re welcome to count the beats and do the math!

Posting of Volume 2 begins on February 1, 2023 with one song being posted each day. V1 was recorded on the fly and posted same-day. I have recorded about half of V2 in advance, during my “break” over the last month, and will post a song each day until V2 ends. I assume it will be another 50 or so songs.

As I don’t want to pay to post this project, I’ll either stop posting or start another account elsewhere when I run out of free disk space. V1 ate up almost half of my space, so I don’t see this going FAR past V2 before it needs to evolve.
