Potential Energy

Good Stuff Comin Thru

Take the leap, move fiercely towards the unknown, sway in rhythm between obstacles and embrace the uncertainty with a gentle smile.

This 11 tracks long album, meticulously crafted with the intention of turning inner demons into house pets, is an ode to self-worthiness.
Shoo-shoo the feelings of inadequacy, this world is chaos anyways, nothing can tell you what to be, how to be, not even orange people or insecure children disguised in billionaire meat suits !

Leap is an hybrid creature, getting inspiration from music of all kinds (mostly shades of Bass music in a larger sense, alright, alright.. not much opera or Metal core going on here, maybe next time). Alternating downtempo, faster beats and at times frenetic psychedelic glitchy goodness.

The opening track "Insidious", despite its eerie name, is a tasty blend of machine-like grooves and emotive themes, setting a strong tone.
From here on, let the ebb and flow carry your mind and soul through
this story, the story of a leap of faith and hope that we aren't totally lost !

The artwork, an original watercolor piece by Taiwanese artist GuaGua Wang is the perfect addition to this release, giving it a strong and beautiful visual aesthetic, and mushrooms are gods by the way, treat them nicely.


02 - Shwamp - Crunch

When my thirst for life is hindered by the built-up layers of protection, the fabrication of an illusive self decaying at an ever increasing rate, the chances of being happy become thin. No matter how beautiful, safe and sweet my days may look like, my shattered being is longing to be whole. As I worn myself out for a long time, the wounded being resting underneath the surface started banging on the door, gasping for air, in an attempt to be heard, to be accepted and step into the light without fear, to love and be loved. 

I am brewing my own recipe for happiness; a little of bit of joy, a little bit of sorrow, a pinch of madness, sprinkled with humour.
In the end, I don't want to take myself too seriously. So here it goes, a new album with its quirks, tasty sounds and sweet grooves. I hope you enjoy it !

In this conversation, the speakers delve into the complexities of extracting data from crowd dynamics, particularly in the context of music performances. They discuss the challenges of video data extraction compared to audio, the inspiration behind their project, and the ethical implications of using technology for crowd surveillance. The conversation also touches on the potential for real-time integration of audience behavior into performances, the future of brain-computer interfaces, and the exploration of life beyond Earth through advanced technology.  Michael Schnebly is an Applied Physics PhD student at Harvard University, where he studies the mechanics of proteins. He is also the creator of Stepwise (@stepwise.xyz), an experimental artist project using body-tracking technology to build new musical instruments and ways of performing. His work bridges scientific research, live performance, and social experimentation.  Michael is one of the co-creators of “Calibration,” a new collaborative research-performance series alongside neuroscientist Landry Bulls and electronic music artist Supertask. Calibration is a scientific study of group synchrony, embodiment, and the neural basis of musical experience through body-tracking in live concert crowds. It launches at Cervantes’ Other Side in Denver this summer.     Landry Bulls is a PhD student in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Dartmouth College. As part of the Social Computation, Representation, and Prediction (SCRAP) Lab working with Dr. Mark Thornton, he uses computational methods to study social signaling of human groups and crowds.&nbsp;    For the people who love to experience music, look no further than Supertask. With deep roots in hip-hop and a focus towards immersion, Supertask creates sonic landscapes that dance between the intensity and stillness of the human consciousness. His offerings of musical escapism are consumed by the concept of infinity, and with a background in IT, Supertask often utilizes code and programming in his artistic vision. A vision that his loyal community, the Dev Team, are directly involved in. Blending both analog and digital sound design, his unique approach has proven to be a driving force in the forward progression of electronic music. Through soundscapes that feel sentient, interactive live streams, and mind-bending visuals, Supertask is changing the way that we consume art.

loverboy @ Blossom Festival 2025

Replay of Friday's set at Sly Grog for the big Hamsa Sound System deployment. There was no recording of the actual set, so I grabbed the rekordbox history of my thumbdrives and recorded a replay. This recording is from my XDJ-RX at home, but the original set was on 2x CDJ 2000 NXS2 units and a DJM 900 NXS2 mixer. 

While I don't have the post fader filter effects that I loved using on the DJM, this is a pretty damn good representation of how the set went.
