Synopsis:
The main character, IO, lands on a new planet after scanning it with a special beam imitating from his ship. The land is dry and barren, dark and mysterious. An exploration of the surroundings to study what has been found begins.

"Origin" is the first of 10 tracks for the IO-01 album. The song intends to establish a cosmic atmosphere and an alien world ready for exploration. It is the beginning or the end of a new journey and follows a monomyth for both the musical artist and the main character.

This is part one of a longer jam session with the Lyra-8 from Soma Labs. It is basically a constant rhythm playing, constantly modulated by the Lyra effects and LFOs. Parts of the sequence are conserved and looped on the Soma Cosmos, giving the entire performance another layer of depth.

Ambient Session 008 Part I

I performed this drone jam as part of Jamuary 2025 - it's also an exercise for my upcoming performance on February 22 which will be Ambient only. I am running a sequencer called "Rhytmizer Ultra" on my Macbook, playing a random sequence on the Vermona Perfourmer. It's output is routed into the Lyra-8 so I can put heavy distortion and the delay effects on it. All audio goes then into the magic Cosmos and where it creates a beautiful background for the Perfourmer Sounds.

I thought it was time to make another sweet and ethereal Perfourmer track. This one is titled „Hope“ and I think I will include some of these sort of tracks in my next liveset. 

The sequence of the performer is played by a plugin called „Ryhtmizer Fusion“. It creates an arpeggio based on a chord progression in the clip, but it adds random and tons of variations, based on knobs and buttons. 

The track is supported by some single notes coming from the Lyra-8 (it also adds some distortion to the Perfourmer sound).

Hello my friends, 

Hope you guys survived Jamuary :D I had to let go after the first weeks because I am fully focused working on my new performance which will premiere on February 22 at the Synth Club. The gig will have some deep ambient tracks but also melodic parts like this. I hooked up a hybrid setup which works really well, I used it before but this time I also inserted the Lyra-8 (which I don’t use in this Jam) and the Perfourmer MKII which are both routed into the Cosmos Looper - together with some spiced sounds coming out of the computer (in this track it´s the Reese-Bass and some texture samples). 

I really love these tracks! Do you think it would make a good opener for the set?

"Rise" is another Lyra-8 drone. I am currently shaping a live set I gonna play only with the Lyra-8 and its sibling, the Cosmos. I realised its almost impossible to make a "setlist" or some similar starting configs as I almost end up with something completely different than I thought I would go to. I use the concept of "idea" instead of "tracks" on this setting and this track is a good example for this concept: "Rise" has a quite good "Preset" that I noted on a piece of paper. I can easily repeat this and get similar results - it's of course not a replicate but It comes close to the idea and goes somewhere else then. 

Rise

“Kind” is the first jam I recorded on my new synthesizer: the Solar 42F from Elta Music. I named the track “Kind” because this instrument has many buttons, switches and lights that let the child in me play and go on a journey of discovery. 

Of course I use an Arabic scale in this first jam :D If you know my music, you also know my preference for Middle East influences. After my first attempts, I was glad that I got the 24 oscillators more or less in tune with each other - I think that was my biggest difficulty.

Delirium: a disturbed state of mind or consciousness, especially an acute, transient condition associated with fever, intoxication, and certain other physical disorders, characterized by symptoms such as confusion, disorientation, agitation, and hallucinations. It represents the madness of looking at a pitch black, empty landscape for too long - aka, space.

Delirium is also about ADHD, mania and my mind's tendency to just imagine situations and react to them, sometimes as if they were real.
