If you cannot capture my attention nor any audience for that matter in the first 30 seconds of your music then it's a lost case. I often wondered why so many great dj's out there do not heed to that. I think you should be able to capture your audience or you lose out. Other thing I noticed is some dj's set levels are not done right.
