With the 5AM Trio project we've always been exploring the balance of the digital and the organic as we blend electronic and live elements in our arrangements. Technology is a song about striking that balance.

This tune was originally created together with the Trio using live looping, and our goal was to maintain that live energy even as I embellished the sound design and songwriting over time. The result is a glitch-hop tune that dabbles in the darker side of psychedelic jam and can go in many directions in a live setting.

The line "his vision was limited only by technology" really inspired us because technology can limit us, through distraction and by giving us a paralyzing amount of options if we're not disciplined, so it's  about honing in and striking that balance while embracing all the gifts technology has to offer.

Connor McLeod, known as Sycamore Sound, is a producer based in Lake Tahoe. Drawing inspiration from both the musical world and the natural environment, he has crafted a signature style that fuses sample-based hip-hop with live instrumentation. His approach merges organic textures with modern production methods, resulting in a sound that's distinct and personal to him.

Murals Pt. 2, an EP brought to you by Sycamore Sound, is a project that not only builds upon Part 1 but also embodies a unique vibe of its own, offering an evolution from the first installment and serving as a prequel to the third.
