Following up our exclusive stream of Different Places (http://datatransmission.co.uk/news/exclusive-album-premiere-zusammenklang-different-places/), the new LP from Zusammenklang, last month, the German DJ/producer has offered us up this fantastic mix to showcase his skills behind the wheels of steel.

Released via Oliver Schories' ﻿SOSO imprint, Different Places collected "joyful melodies... despondent vocals and chilly synths," forming an album of rich textures and emotive bass. His exclusive mix follows a similar formula, treading the borders of techno and tech house. Featured tracks come from the Different Places LP itself, along with work from Ripperton, Dark Sky, Philip Bader and more.

Readily delivering a true stomper of a live mix which incorperates only his own productions – most of them unreleased –, the German Basti Grub, known for his output on labels such as Desolat, Resopal Schallware, Movida, This And That, and of course his own imprint Höhenregler, manages to uplift the enchanted spirits by going full-on from the first bassdrum onwards, opening the energetical, rhythmical ride with the ranting and chanting of a ethnic voice, deep and heavy-hitting bass drums, and organic percussive flavours that sit steady on top of the 
moving bassline. Basti, whose characteristic trademark sound is always rich in bass-heavy percussive and tribal techy sounds, but most notably in aural ecstasy invoked by samples, vocals, voices and chants taken from Latin America, Africa, Spain and other "exotic“ places, provides a forward-driving scenario which also contains a certain mystique – you never know where Grub takes us next, only one thing is certain: somewhere danceable – making the floor beg for more. With Grub, Natch & Dothen currently topping Beatport charts with „Oh Baby Dance“ on Deeperfect, things could not go better for the German artist, and his BARE- and London debut comes in perfect timing as he just launched his new imprint Matcha Matcha, a fine vinyl only imprint which has himself starring as Aprapta, a new and refined alter ego for the humourous and multispectral individual.
