The mix exclusively features music made by those in our posts, with releases ranging from years 1993-2001 covering a range of styles. We loved putting this together - completely spontaneous and unplanned, we felt a different energy while recording and were so happy with the end result. Recently i played the warm up set for Repertoire at their Discworld takeover. I spent ages picking the tunes out to avoid lugging millions of records around. This is a selection from what i took down there.

The first 4 or 5 tunes match what i played on the day but i couldn't remember the exact track list so went off piste from there.

Episode 334 brings us a mix from abYde, who represents Connecticut!

abYde's mix has an Everyday Junglist vibe! He comes out swinging with a series of filthy, amen tunes and old-school influenced rollers! Throughout the mix, each track features wicked, vocal samples! The mix flows easily between upfront rollers and amen punishers! This mix finishes with a footwork-esque, chopped breaks, beauty! There is tons of energy in this mix and an impeccable mix and blend!

Let's meet badmon, selektah, abYde:

abYde's formative years were shaped by 90's Hip-Hop music and culture. He spent his high school years writing graffiti and DJing parties with his friends Cue Two (DMC/ITF) and Genetic AKA Maverick Soul (Emcee Recordings). After hearing Jungle for the first time via a DJ Hype mixtape in '97, he was hooked. He began going to raves around the Northeast and buying records at Breakbeat Science and Satellite Records in NYC. In the subsequent years, abYde would link up with Downbeat Productions and start playing Drum & Bass out regularly, eventually starting his own D&B night in New Haven, CT called Acceleration, which featured Eskmo and The Burner Brothers, among others.

Since then, abYde has been featured on lineups from NYC to Maine, sharing the stage with artists such as Maztek and Ill Gates. His D&B and multi-genre mixes have been featured on Public Enemy Radio, DNB Radio, Jungletrain.net. and the Cyber Groove Productions podcast. In 2015, he joined Scientific Sound, one of the premier DJ and event production crews in New England and has been featured in their infamous Bad Breaks event series. After over 20 years, abYde shows no signs of slowing down.

Hi Everyone,
Here we have the long awaited 5th installment of my The Future Is Jungle series. The tracks were selected back in 2017 so they're not really the future anymore. The tunes were picked just before i moved house back then and i haven't had a space to set my decks up until now. It was interesting to mix what i was feeling back then, a decent set of tunes even if i do say so myself! Most of these are now available to download, a couple may not have seen the light of day though, not sure.
