Full Course  has been a lyricist since his early teens, but even back then he wasn’t trying to be just some other rapper. He spent his time focused on growing, pursuing himself as an individual, realizing the potential of his many skills and recognizing, respecting and cultivating his gift as the truest type of MC – a master of crafts. 

While his family and friends always saw the creative side of Richy, the community in Montreal, Canada’s west-end N.D.G. neighbourhood came to know him as a trusted and devoted counsellor at the local Y. His solid reputation, despite any formal training, led him to become an integration aid at-risk youth and a substitute teacher in the city school system. 

Never one to settle for a nine-to-five, his way with words also made him one of the most level-headed bouncers to ever talk down drunken belligerence on the Main. On the side, a talent with the lens and an instinct that brings out an artist’s best on celluloid helped Richy and his partner (Roberto Garcia) at Labnoise Films become the go-to guys for urban culture’s film production needs in eastern Canada, and a full-time business. 

These daily occupations express his genuine value as a quality human being. The beats and rhymes he has been refining all the while, quietly and consistently, express the scope of a soul and imagination provoked by a holistic approach to being alive. 

His first single, “Story of my Life”, broke Quebec’s hip hop radio airwaves in late 2010, becoming an instant street hit, shared online rampantly to achieve sudden sleeper status across Canada’s hip hop underground communities.

With a body of music he is now ready to take from labour of love to fulfilment of his obligation as an entire person, the thing he has come to understand best is the difference between performing and performance.

Originating from Lyon, France and based in Montreal, Canada, Akpossoul's West African roots and influences embark music lovers, listeners, dancers and club goers on a remarkable journey.
Son of a DJ and brother to house music producer Manoo, Akpossoul naturally came with a background deeply rooted in music. Over the last decade, the DJ and producer has established himself in the house music scene with his recognizable deep, soulful, afro sound. He has collaborated and played along notable figures in house music featuring the likes of Djeff, MoBlack, Jojo Flores, Boddhi Satva, Hyenah to name a few.

Having played in his home country of France and in numerous clubs around the globe, you can find him playing for Montreal's most crowded dancefloors on a weekly basis. Resident at Montreals listening Cafe Got Soul on Saturday afternoons, Akpossoul also has events under his own vision, The Journey. The soulful afro house events hosted in Montreal nightclubs feature some of house music's best names and live percussionists. It can also be found on his Soundcloud podcast under the same name.
