Bilingüe sind keine Unbekannten mehr. Spätestens seit der Veröffentlichung ihres aktuellen Albums En el medio de to’ und den darauf folgenden Konzerten im Vorprogramm des genialen “Tonino Carotone” (Manu Chao Band-Mitglied) ist der Name Bilingüe in aller Munde. Ihr Sound ist eine Reise quer durch alle Stile der Musiklandschaft. Von Flamenco bis Punk, von Funk bis Soul..(…) Auf ihrem Weg halten sie einzig und allein zwei Dinge stets im Gleichgewicht. Italienisch und Spanisch als Sprache ihrer Musik. “Bilingüe” eben…

Bilingüe No son ningunos desconocidos. A partir de la publicación de su disco actual En el medio de to’ y los conciertos en el programa de „Tonino Carotone“, el nombre “ Bilingüe” va de boca en boca. El sonido es un viaje por todos los estilos de música. Desde el Flamenco hasta el Punk, desde el Funk hasta el Soul... En su camino sólo dos cosas están siempre en equilibrio. El italiano y el español como idioma de su música. “Bilingüe” justamente.... 

”Bilingüe” crean algo muy especial. No sólo debido a sus canciones dinámicas y apasionadas, sino también debido a una alegría que no para ni un segundo. Y debido a una cosa que Jim Morrison pensaba, „the men don‘t know / but the little girls understand“ („los hombres no saben / pero las niñas, si que comprenden“): la pasión y el erotismo ni siquiera tan subliminal, que también al Flamenco Funk de este grupo le da su encanto. Bilingüe non sono piú degli sconosciuti. A partire dalla pubblicazione del loro secondo album En el medio de to’ e i live che li hanno visti protagonisti insieme a “Tonino Carotone” il nome “Bilingüe” gira di bocca in bocca. Il loro sound è un viaggio che accompagna gli ascoltatori verso tutti i paesaggi musicali. Dal Flamenco al Punk, dal Funk al Rock... Nel loro cammino sopratutto due cose restano in equilibrio, l’italiano e lo spagnolo. “Bilingüe” appunto... 

I “Bilingüe” costruiscono qualcosa di molto particolare e originale. Non solo per quanto riguarda la loro dinamica armoniosa e passionale, ma anche per l’allegria che riescono a trasmettere. Ricordando una frase del poeta Jim Morrison, „the men don‘t know / but the little girls understand“ („gli uomini non sanno / ma le donne, si che capiscono“): la passione e l’erotismo si susseguono in una maniera molto subliminare. Bilingüe is not an unknown band. At least since the release of their actual album “En el medio de to” and the following concerts at the opening sessions of the genial “Tonino Carotone” (a member of Manu Chao band), Bilingüe’s name has become well known. Their sound is a journey through all kind of musical landscape, from Flamenco to Punk, from Funk to Soul, ... In their journey they only hold one thing, that is to use Italian and Spanish as their musical language. It’s “Bilingüe”.

„Bilingüe broods something special. The main thing is not from the dynamic of their firing songs but more from their joy and ability in playing music. As Jim Morrison once said, “men don’t know, but little girls understand”. The subliminally passion and eroticism which add the flamenco-funk flair of this Band. (La Repubblica XL)

The project was born in the autumn 2001, initially with the name of "Burning Lips", later changed into  "Five Wheel Drive."  
The idea toke place from the union of musicians coming from long musical experience: Diego Potron (guitars) who worked with Ragadi, Pranxter, Folkenublo, Inapnea and Stardog; Mario Perego (drums) with Ultima Thule and Revox; Francesco Portinari (voice) with Eva, Boomerang Kids, Mail Order Shopping, Inapnea, and Alberto Pirovano (guitars) who collaborated with Ultima Thule and Revox.  
Born as an idea to link different experiences coming from all the band members involved to create a sound that could satisfy the necessity to fill what 90's hadn't been reached, the project becomes concrete when the bass player Simone Bianco, already an essential player in the Revox band,  joins the band.In July 2002, encouraged by the desire to play anywhere possible, they produces the EP of debut, "5WD": five songs recorded live, that gave the perfect image of what Five Wheel Drive were able to do once on the stage.  
The appreciation of their music is practically immediate.
After appearances on national Radio an numerous live concerts, in December 2003, the band signed a contract with Sony/V2 and record a new Album: 5WD – Five Wheel Drive.
