I thought that the act of "playing an instrument" creates an ego that wants the audience to "listen to the performance," and leads them away from the concept of ambient music, which is "to be listened to or not to be listened to."

In this performance, I distanced myself from such performances, and as usual, I simply placed the guitar on the desk without holding it up, did not hold down the frets, and simply vibrated the strings, aiming to create a 30-minute flow of sound generated by the guitar, as if it were flowing into the space.

MIMINOIMI - Ambient / Week - 2025 DAY1 「サウンドウォーク in 弘法山」

総勢20名の行列が、山の音に耳を澄ませながら、ゆっくりと登っていった。

Marginal Consort多田正美氏の音具、細竹やプラスティックストロー笛を用い、各々が即興的に音を奏でた。

木々のざわめき、鳥の声、足元の落ち葉の音──自然と自分とのあわいに音が重なっていく。

天気は見事な快晴。

その翌日、自宅でAbleton Liveを開き、かつて録音したギターの断片をグラニュラー・シンセに取り込み、静かに雨を降らせてみた。

もうひとつのサウンドスケープを立ち上げてみたかった。

このトラックは、あの日の記憶を別のかたちで、そっと記録したものとなった。

かつて弘法大師が修行したと言われる神奈川県秦野市にある弘法山。
この標高235mの山のあまり知られていない緩やかなルートを、マージナル・コンサートのメンバーであるサウンド・アーティスト多田正美氏と辿りながら、サウンドウォーク・ライブパフォーマンスとレクチャーを開催します。
参加者は、移り変わる景色やサウンドスケープと交わる多田氏の即興演奏に身を委ねながら、ダイナミックかつ繊細な音の動きに耳を澄ませます。この実験的なサウンドウォークにより- Ambient / Week - 2025は幕開けます。
