Synthetic: (adj.): devised, arranged, or fabricated for special situations to imitate or replace usual realities

Synthetik Sounds returns for its fourth outing following the label’s early-2023 Saudade EP from Los Angeles-area stalwart Annika Wolfe. For the occasion, we welcome the UK-based Portuguese techno and electro legend The Advent, who delivers a 4-track techno groove titled The Plug Formation with a special remix by DJ Dextro.

With Ecilo at the A&R helm, as well as two of Los Angeles’s most revered underground brands, SIX AM and Synthetik Minds, spearheading its mission, Synthetik Sounds is now an established home for artists whose sound remains true to the ethos of underground techno.

The imprint’s first three outings, Protech The Skyline by Ecilo, Rooted In Reality by Stephen Disario, and Saudade by Annika Wolfe clearly underscored the intention of the label: to provide a platform for artists whose output leans both on deep, hypnotic techno as well as darker, and harder shades of the genre, while also building bridges between North America, Europe, Asia and beyond. Adding The Advent to our roster, we have officially hit the three major continents we had set out to connect and build using music as the bridge to bring artists closer together in the global community.

The EP opens things up with “Two Zero One,” which sees The Advent delivering a hard-hypnotic drive that will leave the dance floor swooning from left to right, and back. This is classic underground Techno at its finest: timeless, driving, and heavy-hypnosis which is what every DJ needs in their rotation to keep the crowd under control and locked in throughout their sets.


Next, we move to “Two Zero Three,” which starts off with a punchy kick and hypnotic bells that eventually builds up to heavy snares and claps giving this track the energy it needs to slap the dancefloor up while never losing its original intention of keeping the floor swaying deep into the morning light.

The Advent shifts the energy in “Two Zero Four” with a stomping rhythm and a heavy stab that is meant to shake you out of the hypnosis, adding The Advent’s signature claps, slaps, and snares, giving it tension throughout the ride while dosing us with a boost of energy that is needed during a marathon set. DJ Dextro provides his take on this track, giving it a chuggy remix with fat rolling hypnotic-bassline that maintain the subtle dancefloor drive while keeping the groove on lock as the synth pulls you back in and sends you right in the moment with each punchy kick. A dance floor destroyer is what most will call this remix!

The EP closes with “Three Zero Six,” perhaps the biggest track of the release, as the build up signals a full send-off to Techno dance floors around the world. From large warehouses to major festival stages, this is The Advent at his absolute best, setting dance floors off in proper fashion when the moment and time calls for it.

Jansons returns to Circus Recordings with the infectious house anthem "Medicine" feat. Dope Earth Alien. Following his 2019 debut on Circus Recordings with the massive ‘Switch’, Jansons quickly established himself as one of the most exciting UK producers on the scene and continues to demonstrate his ability to deliver dancefloor-focused house music. His latest track "Medicine" is no different.

Accompanying Jansons on ‘Medicine’ are the vocals of familiar collaborator and Toronto-based singer-songwriter, Dope Earth Alien. With her signature sound echoing over the track, she layers fun vocal lines over Jansons bass and percussion-laden production.

Following up one of the standout tracks of 2019, ‘Switch’ dominated the dancefloors of clubs and was a regular feature in the record bags of artists such as Marco Carola and Honey Dijon, as well as receiving a number of spins from Annie Mac and Danny Howard on BBC Radio 1’s Dance Music shows.

Embedding himself amongst a new-wave of underground house artists, Jansons has regularly appeared on Radio 1’s Dance Music shows alongside a number notable releases on labels such as Knee Deep In Sound, FourThirtyTwo and Hot Creations. He’s also performed at venues and festivals such as Fabric, Hideout, BPM and Warehouse Project. With career-defining releases such as ‘Medicine’ on the horizon, 2021 promises to propel Jansons further into the spotlight.

An event promoter, label founder, radio host, philanthropist and fashion icon. Ask anyone and they’ll say Nicole Moudaber is a MOOD. She’s been letting her hair down in LA and soaking up the West Coast vibes. We recently caught with her ahead of her festival appearance at Insomniac’s Beyond Wonderland on August 27. Nicole gives a raw look at the power of solitude and why being alone is important to help you tap into a deeper sense of self and energy.

6AM In Interview: Casting Dark Dancefloor Spells, Nicole Moudaber is a Techno Force

French techno ringleader Antigone returns to the fray with "We Are The Soldiers", a dark and brooding two track EP set for release on his very own imprint No Pain No Gain. Over five years’ experience holding down the fort with a residency at Concrete Club in Paris has undoubtedly graced Antigone with the ability to create truly direct and energy focused techno. The raw industrial fever that imbues his tracks has been shaped over countless years of dancefloor exposure, this international luminary has been met with warm reception from industry figureheads and up and comers alike. He has previously commissioned remixes for the legendary Slam, and Detroit icon Carl Craig. Antigone has also released original tracks with the likes of Nina Kraviz and Amelie Lens on their respective imprints.

The EP’s title track “We Are Soldiers” thunders into action with maniacal intent, the blistering rumble of sawtooth synths and nosebleed kick drums bursts through the mix with unrelenting energy. The warlike vocal chant stomps through the arrangement, constantly supplying the track with an impending feeling of urgency and pressurization. The sheer power behind Antigone’s drum work is truly a spectacle to behold, the machine-like clatter of hi-hats drives endlessly atop the thumping low-end impacts.

His music bridges time and space playing into his love of the galaxy: soft synths, brushed hi-hats & intergalactic bleeps, clicks and bells. Underground Resistance founder Jeff Mills always stays looking forward. 

Celebrating 30 years of Axis Records, his new project Mind Power, Mind Control examines the art of mental persuasion and our mind’s vulnerability in this day and age. We chatted about his inspiration behind the album, some of the roadblocks within the electronic music industry, and why it’s important to find your “why.”

On July 15th 2022, Anetha will release the second seismic compilation on her label Mama Told Ya titiled 'Contre tout, toutes et tous, la terre demeure' - the release comes just one year after 'L’eau repousse les feux agressifs'.

The compilation comes up with the collaboration of 19 artists and 19 tracks - all of which are divided into 4 vinyls. Anetha has brought together a generation of young electronic music artists from around the world to get their hands dirty and produce some solid gems.

"I created "Trust your eyes" at the beginning of 2021, during a time where I really wanted to experiment more vocals as a real lead in a song. I wanted to create a contrast between the first and second part. The first one is really based on drums and fxs, all linked by an arpeggio. As for the second one, it is more minimalist and really "less is more" vibe. This track is a really a good foretaste of what my next releases (maybe a full LP on Mama told ya ahah ?) will look like." – Mac Declos

6AM In Interview: Will Clarke

&friends is the musical concept and brainchild of New York-based artist Sean Thomas. Drawing the breadth of his inspiration for these musical works from the African Diaspora, Sean had a vision to create a project embodying tradition, culture, and community culminating in the coining of &friends. Through a journey fueled by passion, determination, and drive, Sean Thomas set out to foster meaningful connections first with his best friend and music producer, Michael Scheinker, as well as with creators all over the continent of Africa.

Now, Sean Thomas celebrates the release of his sophomore single “Ode Ireti'' featuring eL Jay & Oluwadamvic.  The second installment to the burgeoning project’s catalog is slated for release on his own imprint, Hidden Hands. 

Translated to “Hunters of Hope”, “Ode Ireti” hails from the West African native language Yoruba. Across the duration of the track, sultry chords and melody overlay a dynamic percussive production. 

Driving vocals and enchanting chants weave across the afro-house foundation, the new track introduces a new collaborator also from Nigeria - hailing from a background in choir and gospel, eL Jay delivers a poignant vocal message of ancestry, culture, and perseverance that truly sees the vision of the track embodying “Hunters of Hope” through to fruition. 

eL Jay’s passion for West African culture, his tribal influences, and breadth of inspiration across hip hop, afrobeats, and hallmarks of popular culture poise him as another global voice Sean Thomas aims to amplify through involvement in the releases of &friends.

UMEK’s record label, 1605, drops the 10th instalment in its Desiderati 4 series, which features peak time techno tracks by Danny Avila, Heerhorst, Novem Vivit and Benjamin Di Bora.

1605’s Desiderati 4 series features four tracks hand-picked by UMEK that are extensively road tested in his DJ sets before being released. It’s a series that features incredible tracks by label favourites, established names and exciting new talents.

Heerhorst is a producer from Hamburg in Germany who has previously released on 1605 in addition to other scene-leading techno imprints such as Terminal M, CODEX and Filth on Acid. He is a regular collaborator with Teenage Mutants and this release features his fast-and-furious solo track “XTC”.

“XTC” has rattling high-end percussion and a thundering kick forming a foundation for sweeping pads and flutters of melody, while the track approaches the breakbeat rhythms of the tantalizing breakdown.

PREMIERE: The Advent - Three Zero Six [Synthetik Sounds]

Synthetik Sounds returns for its fourth outing following the label’s early-2023 Saudade EP from Los Angeles-area stalwart Annika Wolfe. For the occasion, we welcome the UK-based Portuguese techno and electro legend *The Advent*, who delivers a 4-track techno groove titled The Plug Formation with a special remix by *DJ Dextro*.  
The EP opens things up with “Two Zero One,” which sees The Advent delivering a hard-hypnotic drive that will leave the dance floor swooning from left to right, and back. This is classic underground Techno at its finest: timeless, driving, and heavy-hypnosis which is what every DJ needs in their rotation to keep the crowd under control and locked in throughout their sets.


Next, we move to “Two Zero Three,” which starts off with a punchy kick and hypnotic bells that eventually builds up to heavy snares and claps giving this track the energy it needs to slap the dancefloor up while never losing its original intention of keeping the floor swaying deep into the morning light.

The Advent shifts the energy in “Two Zero Four” with a stomping rhythm and a heavy stab that is meant to shake you out of the hypnosis, adding The Advent’s signature claps, slaps, and snares, giving it tension throughout the ride while dosing us with a boost of energy that is needed during a marathon set. DJ Dextro provides his take on this track, giving it a chuggy remix with fat rolling hypnotic-bassline that maintain the subtle dancefloor drive while keeping the groove on lock as the synth pulls you back in and sends you right in the moment with each punchy kick. A dance floor destroyer is what most will call this remix!

The EP closes with “Three Zero Six,” perhaps the biggest track of the release, as the build up signals a full send-off to Techno dance floors around the world. From large warehouses to major festival stages, this is The Advent at his absolute best, setting dance floors off in proper fashion when the moment and time calls for it.

We premiere some high-caliber techno from none other than London-based Cisco Ferreira aka The Advent who joins Synthetic Sounds for a five-track EP with a remix from DJ Dextro. We feature ‘Two Zero Four’ a quintessential Advent production as Cisco turns the swing right up and craves out a minimalistic piece of classy techno, further cementing his name in the history books of techno.

Mark Michael has made a name for himself as one of the most exciting artists in modern Techno music. With a passion for pushing the genre’s boundaries and exploring new sonic landscapes, he has developed a style that is both otherworldly and deeply human.

It was with the release of 'Solar Storm' that Mark first propelled himself into the spotlight of the international Techno scene. The track quickly gained momentum and climbed to the top of the Techno Charts, earning a place among Beatport's Best Selling Techno Tracks of 2020.

Soon after, Mark's talent caught the attention of Techno legend Monika Kruse, leading to his debut on her iconic label Terminal M as one of the youngest artists to ever release on the imprint.

Aimed at showcasing exciting, emerging artists "Exhibit" aims to channel techno's fundamental frequencies as Slam seek out the rawer, deeper end of the spectrum with selected artists, focussing on the deeper and hypnotic sound of techno.

Packing in 8 tracks across this first release, Slam open with title track ‘Exhibit 1’ a deep, sub heavy and electrifying roller. Newcomers Mist Gasp are up next with the suitably trippy Final Return followed by the pairing of Confluence & Von Tee Rah who pack in a lot of attitude with Unit 1. Frankfurt native Michael Klein, aka Michael Koczynski, has been an integral part of the European techno scene for many years. His savvy sounds have been released via the likes of Cocoon, Second State and his BLK DRP since the turn of the century while always bringing heavy beats and intricate sound designs.

He opens up here with the mighty sounds of 'Introsuspect,' which pairs hefty low ends with spooky and sparse atmospheres up top. The bulky, gritty drums march onwards while wispy details and paranoid motifs ring out and keep dancers on their toes. Then comes the equally chunky kicks of 'Sirena' with coarse claps peeling off the groove, synths twisted into the beats and filthy basslines powering the whole thing forward with inescapable energy.

As we all know, there really is no shortage of artists in the vast field of electronic music, especially in the German capitol of Techno that is Berlin. They come and go with trends and seasons, build their hypes, and eventually vanish into the social medial void our postmodern times have created. However, there are those ones which stand out, which stay stuck in the eyes and ears of the public, which play and produce themselves in the collective memory of our community. Tham is one of those. As resident and face of underground public favourites like SYNOID, Revier Südost, and Lebendig, in just a few years the young artist has proven that he’s one to stay, to watch and to listen to. Growing up on the dancefloors of Berlin – figuratively speaking – Tham’s artistic vision hails from and is always directed back to that very place which represents the crux of the matter of our entire subculture. His interpretation of Techno, his musical vision, lives on his drive to set people in motion. Pounding bass drums, complex grooves, and aggressive synth lines lashing through the crowd, taking their hypnotic effect. This is what Tham provides. Music ex machina, coming out of nowhere, binding the eyes, ears, and bodies of his audience to the floor, to the very present, sticking to their brains, billowing through their minds for hours, long after they’ve left the club.

Berlin-based DJ and producer Stina Francina originates from Gothenburg, Sweden, where she first fell in love with the underground scene at an early age. Her sets and productions draw inspiration from the freedom and magic found in those spaces, and exude an energy of playfulness and raw emotion while drawing from a wide range of influences, spanning from twisted, groovy techno to exhilarating, high-speed euphoric trance.

Stina Francina recently released her debut record "Crime de la Creme" on Swedish label STRECK, and has previously released her music on No Borders, Carouse, Mitsu2000, Ismus, and more.

Declan James makes his celebrated Peer debut with the five-track Symbolic Function EP. The Dallas, Texas producer and VOIDWARE founder’s stripped-back style of techno is well suited for the Bay Area label’s forward-thinking yet time-tested approach to techno.

A familiar structure slowly takes shape from amorphous, shimmering tones throughout the runtime of the title track. A remix of “Symbolic Function” also appears on the EP of its namesake. Offered up by Peer stalwart Secus, it gives the concept more groove in the form of resonant basses and bristling percussion.

Next is “Homeostasis,” a sonic exercise in subtlety. Each element introduced sneaks up on the listener, from new drum layers to the alternating sonar tones that virtually drown out all else underneath. Conventional wisdom suggests that “Homeostasis” shouldn’t sound right. Against all odds, it does.

“Serpents Tone” concludes the EP on a simple yet suspenseful note. Spine-tingling atmospherics offset gnashing foley effects while restrained drum hits give the arrangement some semblance of order. Also included is label boss Max Gardner’s rendition, which incorporates psychedelic oscillations set to an intensifying rhythm.

In the Symbolic Function EP, Declan James contributes thought-provoking ideas to the worldwide conversation that is underground music. Peer is the perfect home for such an effort. The label’s recent release cadence promises that dance floor moments such as these will not be in short supply.

Under the Ducky alias (which the artist retired in 2021), the producer had collaborated with Jauz and MUST DIE!; performed at festivals such as Ultra Music Festival, EDC Las Vegas, Bonnaroo, and Lollapalooza; toured alongside Anna Lunoe, Mija, Kayzo, and NGHTMRE; and released on Deadbeats, Astralwerks, Dim Mak, Activia Benz, Spinnin, NEST (OWSLA sister label), and more. 

Leading up to the release of Jawfiller EP, the producer/painter/photographer/tattoo artist released the singles "I.T.C.T.M." (press release), "If The DJ Let Me" (press release), and "F.M.T.D." (press release). He also revealed his debut photo book i want to rest and be held by someone who loves me (press release), which featured at the SF Art Book Fair and LA Art Book Fair, and displayed an original painting at renowned Los Angeles art gallery La Luz De Jesus.

As well as running the imprint and hosting his own well-curated events showcasing local and international talent, Anton's penchant for great sound and system tuning, has him frequently collaborating with stalwarts of the local scene, in what many are calling the vibiest parties around. Rewind back to 2015, and this was the year that Alex Mine actually produced the original track ‘Lost’, a track which remained homeless yet waiting to be unleashed on the right label. It wasn't until he bumped into Monika Kruse whilst in Barcelona for Sonar, where she signed it after the first listen to her beloved Terminal M imprint.

Initial feedback was outstanding, but it really all started to happen when Carl Cox said he loved it, and wanted to do a remix, alongside fellow Italian producer Roberto Capuano. Carl drops a funky, chunky groove rework with tech house vibes, whilst Roberto throws in his techno cut. A hypnotic combination of synthetic movements, vocals and acid rhythms.

6AM Guest Mix: Rex The Dog (Fast Train To Breda Mix)

Rising UK artists Rene Wise and Billy Turner each deliver two deep techno cuts for the sixth chapter of @mote-evolver’s ‘Parallel Series’, curated by label founder Luke Slater.

Inaugurated by Luke Slater (as L.B.Dub Corp) and ASC in 2011, ‘Parallel Series’ has continued to host split releases from the likes of Shifted, Samuli Kemppi, Bas Mooy, Chris Finke, Developer, Truncate, Sev Dah, Jeff Rushin, and more. 

For its next installment, Brighton based producer Rene Wise returns to Mote-Evolver with two tracks, having debuted on the label last year. 

Both tracks are choice cuts picked by Luke Slater who’s been hammering Wise’s demos in his sets throughout the last year.

Premiere: Rene Wise "Sling Jockey" - Mote-Evolver

Slovenian DJ and producer Umek has released Vibrancy, the second EP in as many months on his own 1605 label, out 31st May.

The weighty, three-track release comes off the back of April’s 19119, and sees the veteran artist combine a tougher techno sound with more emotive, melodic elements. The EP’s title track is the clearest example of this, with a pounding kick-drum making way for a groove-laden breakdown halfway through. ‘Acid Rain’ is a heavier proposition, a full acid workout that harks back to Umek’s rave-era beginnings. Loosening off somewhat, closing track ‘Constellations’ is underpinned by a steady, measured groove.
   
"Vibrancy" is evidence of a versatile artist capable of pairing emotional melodies with the heaviest of techno beats, and is out 31st May via 1605.

An iconic artist of the underground dance scene for over two decades Christian Hornbostel has gathered quite a big crowd of followers with his consistent output of quality and varied styled productions. 
He was well known in the '90s for being one of the men behind Renaissance anthems Virtualmismo "Mismoplastico" and VFR "Tranceillusion" that were hammered by Sasha & John Digweed during their sets and included on their groundbreaking "Renaissance" compilation. The German artist's production career has seen him work with some of the industry's finest imprints and had appearance on hugely successful early "Global Underground" series as well. 

More than 1.000 production credits sit proudly next to Hornbostel's name as his latest work for Kling Klong, Set About, Natura Viva Black, Smashead, Sbert records, Black Kat, Fierce Animal, Dense Audio, Fehler-Musik, Circulate and Phobos has found him supported by the DJ elite from DJ Rush and Chris Liebing to Petar Dundov, Sasha & John Digweed.

6AM In Interview: Carl Cox Cooks Up Industry Wisdom & DJ Advice

2019 saw Italian producer Carlo Whale hit a turning point in his career with the release of his debut EP on Berlin based label, @einmusika-recordings. Making an impression with the inaugural release, he reaffirms himself in the Einmusika family as he returns to the label with his new ‘The Future Is Now’ EP.

Developing and honing his craft since 2013, Carlo has been pursuing the boundaries between music, technology and nature. Carlo’s unique production techniques utilise the environment around him as he tempers the emotions of moments in time into expertly crafted Techno.

‘The Future Is Now’ EP further demonstrates his preference for melodically themed peak time club moments. Amid horns and progressive basslines, Carlo builds a spell-binding atmosphere. Pushing forward his love for melody, ‘Lying Eyes’ uses piano synths that grow to build euphoria, meanwhile ‘Glass House’ brings out a more ambient side of the EP.

It's our pleasure and honor to present this week's Global Vibe Radio mix, featuring Los Angeles techno flag-bearer Truncate.

Established in early 2011, Truncate is the raw, deep, jackin techno and house project of David Flores, who is also widely known for his productions as Audio Injection

After being introduced to electronic music back as a teenager in the early '90s in Los Angeles, Flores was hooked. He started DJing across Southern California on the DIY warehouse, backyard, desert, and rave circuit. 

After a few years solely DJing, he began releasing original music under the monikers David F and Audio Injection, which landed him on labels such as Monoid, Stimulus, 4 Track & LA label Droid Recordings. His association with Droid Behavior began in 2003 as a resident at the now defunct yet infamous and internationally acclaimed Interface event series alongside Drumcell and Raiz. He currently runs a new event series together with Drumcell and Oktaform named “Observe”.

His Truncate releases early on gained critical acclaim from world class underground talent such as Modeselektor, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Chris Liebing, Speedy J, DVS1, Luke Slater, Ben Sims, Josh Wink, Eats Everything, Joris Voorn, and many more. Since then, he has provided remixes for artists across the musical spectrum including Kink, Slam, Loco Dice, Ben Sims, Josh Wink, Ellen Alien, Miss Kittin, Carl Cox & Nicole Moudaber. He has also released original works on 50 Weapons, Ultramajic, Blueprint, Ei8ht, Figure and of course his own imprint Truncate. He has also collaborated with Jimmy Edgar, Chambray and most recently started a new project with Ben Sims as ‘Assailants’ which they’ve released on their own imprint ‘Obscurity Is Infinite’.

A rigorous international tour schedule has since followed, including stops and regular appearances at the most prestigious venues and events, including Berghain in Berlin, Fabric in London, Concrete in Paris, The Movement Festival in Detroit, Womb in Tokyo, Dimensions Festival in Croatia, Awakenings in Amsterdam, Output in New York, and many more.

Dusty Kid has recently announced the re-issue of his well-known "A Raver’s Diary" album. First appearing in the early-00’s, Paolo Lodde aka Dusty Kid was championed as an electronic music prodigy. Releasing on a number of globally esteemed labels from Systematic, Bpitch Control and Mau5trap, he further garnered the support from international tastemakers such as Ritchie Hawtin which cemented his position as a young techno artist

On its initial release, A Raver’s Diary revealed the extraordinary talent of Dusty Kid, and his penchant for producing and championed his style of deep hypnotic productions. Classically trained and versatile in his output, his eclecticism has made his music timeless and is why the album has had a continued impact.

The audio has been made available on vinyl for the first time as of May 15th. Alongside the re-issue, listeners can expect remixes from Robert Babicz, Freedom Fighters, Eitan Reiter and Violinist Vito Gatto as well as new singles & B-sides.

They say all great things are worth waiting for, and we couldn't agree more on a day when we are able to welcome Los Angeles techno flag-bearer Drumcell for his first Global Vibe Radio mix.

Drumcell was born as Moe Espinosa in LA’ San Gabriel Valley. Far away from the glamour and glitter of Hollywood, he cut his teeth growing up in a vibrant, culturally diverse neighborhood that still breeds inspiration for his work.

To say that Drumcell's work as a curator is synonymous with the Los Angeles techno scene as we know it today would be an understatement. First as co-founder of Droid Behavior, the label that ultimately gave birth to the infamous now-defunct Interface event series, and more recently as co-founder of Observe, Drumcell has been active in curating avant-garde techno events for decades. It is these events, as well as Drumcell's own productions, that have not only put LA on the international techno map, but have inspired countless other artists and event curators (6AM included) to contribute to their local techno scenes. 

A classically trained musician in his youth, Moe came to circulate around the Noise, Punk and Industrial scene, playing guitar and singing in various bands until he discovered the early ‘90s LA rave scene. 

That was when he got in touch with some of the heroic synthesizers of techno’s early years. His enthusiasm for those synthetic sounds lead to a career as a Product Specialist at Native Instruments and to independent musician and engineer work across Los Angeles. Some of his studio contributions include work for Alessandro Cortini of Nine Inch Nails, Maynard James Keenan of Tool, Douglas McCarthy of Nitzer Ebb, Gary Numan, George Clinton, Kool Keith, Qbert, and Cut Chemist.

By then, Moe was chuffed to pursue his own productions. When he handed out his first self-produced, self-pressed vinyls at the DEMF in 2001, he heard them being played from the festival stages the very next day. Since then, he has released original productions or remixes on DROID, CLR, Electric Deluxe, Dystopian, Torque, Silent Steps, Blank Code, Ibadan, Detroit Underground, and more. This style has caught the attention of many of the world’s top techno jocks, with strong track support from the likes of Luke Slater, Speedy J, and Chris Leibing. This style has also reached numerous prestigious international clubs and festivals. From Berlin’s techno mecca Berghain to the main stage of Movement in Detroit to North American nightclubs like Output and Stereo to festivals across Europe, Latin America, Japan and Australia – Drumcell’s sound is being heard around the world.

In 2016, Drumcell debuted his ambient project HYPOXIA on his experimental label BL_K NOISE, producing infinite movement with his Buchla and Eurorack systems. Hypoxia all hardware performance have been heard at highly curated atmospheres from Atonal and Berghain in Berlin to Brooklyn’s Greyscale Series at Output to pop-up concerts on the LA River.

Drumcell explores and discovers the analogue world as much as the digital world of music production, to finally combine them into his very own raw, suspenseful and hypnotic style. Influenced by a myriad of music as well as science fiction and machines, he has developed an addiction to analog synthesis which has led to ceaseless experiments in his studio in search of new, mind-expanding sounds. As one of the most esoteric techno artists in North America, his sound disregards genre limitations and is everything but conventional techno.

Stepping up for @oddityrecordings' next release is emerging melodic techno talent Coeus. He is no stranger to the label run by @furcoatmusic, having contributed to the latest Odd Echoes V.A and remixing EarthLife's "Italia". This time he presents a three-track EP, joined by the duo Alfa Romero on remix duties.

Serbian based Coeus has been steadily amassing support and can already claim that names such as Tale Of Us, Solomun, Adriatique, Dixon and more are behind his music. He played the piano from a young age and this early understanding of melody seeps into his music now. Characterized by deep melodic progressions he has forged a unique sound in this space. 

The title track “Echoes” opens the package. It's everything you would come to expect from the Serbian, built on a drive drum track, the track is highlighted by a beautifully evolving synth line throughout. It takes you on a journey throughout and keeps the ear hooked.
