The mighty DJ Godfather is back with a brand-new album. If you thought last year's 'Electro Beats For Freaks' was a bombshell you'll be blown away by 'This Detroit Thing Of Ours'.

DJ Godfather (Brian Jeffries) is one of the founding fathers of the Detroit Ghetto Tech scene but has gone on to be so much more over a career that spans almost 3 decades. Once again he breaks all the rules. The album features 46 tracks and like his last album, they segue into one another, until the series of EPs on vinyl (and digital) which will follow featuring full-length versions and different mixes of some of the album's tracks.

The third track “What Up” Featuring Parkhouse is an energetic tune with the signature sound that is known for. Delivering a vibrant mix of the Detroit sound and techno. For those wanting an insight into Ghetto Tech, head to track 38, 'It's Ghetto Tech' featuring Dan Diamond which draws a line under the many questions posed to Godfather over the years about the genre.

Following a previous outing on Rekids Special Projects with ‘Austral Frames’, as well as releases on Nina Kraviz’s Trip, UNCAGE, and Suara, the Existentia boss returns to Radio Slave’s techno-focussed imprint with four hard-hitting tracks across ‘Move Around EP’.

Lead track ‘Move Around’ bursts with character as energetic and crunchy drum work, booming low end, and tripped out vocal chops combine for a heavy-duty warehouse smasher. ‘Black Out’ sees the producer opt for a comparatively restrained approach, focussing on a handful of razor-sharp and deeply effective elements for a rattling, groove led techno jam.

‘Alloy Steel’ conjures up textured atmospherics and dense FX as tumbling kicks, metallic stabs, and crisp hats punch through the mix, before ‘Sinergy’ winds the energy down with doses of hypnotic synthesis and syncopated kick patterns, bringing the release to a woozy close.

Bringing an eclectic feel of underground techno, 2psyched continues to release more on self-created label Required Noise.

Electronic artist 2psyched, an American-Filipino born and raised in the Baltimore-Washington area. Graduate from the University of Maryland, practicing as an experienced acute psychiatric registered nurse- developing a greater community through leadership, management, and creating non-invasive ways to further bridge gaps in mental wellness. 
 
Attributing his artistic foundation to growing up listening to a wide range of genres, spending time around nightclubs as a promoter, and living in places such as the Dutch-Netherlands Antilles, Chicago, and San Diego. Producing for self-created, local independent electronic label, Required Noise, 2psyched is currently based in the Austin, Texas area. 
 
Distributing music through various digital hubs such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, Bandcamp, Beatport, and Soundcloud. Categorizing his music as "minimal electronic," with major influences from -but not limited to Robert Hood, Jeff Mills, Mark Broom, Radio Slave, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Joris Voorn, Boris Brejcha, and Oliver Huntemann.
