Darius described how Return To Jericho came to fruition: “We were chatting at the beginning of lockdown about starting a collab and decided that we wanted to make something with depth & soul. We’re really happy with these tracks & super happy that Damian has snapped them for Crosstown Rebels.”

Bushwacka echoed a similar sentiment: “When I checked out what Darius had been releasing on Moxy, straight away I felt that a collaboration would work, and work it has. This could be the first of many.”

The title track leads the way, opening with ethereal synth rolls and resonant kick-hat combos. Saharan-like vocals marry up next to a pacey, 4x4 bassline whilst atmospheric pulses march on in the background. Akkabi Blue takes on a more-stripped back feel, as minimal percussion cascades into a breakbeat-inspired breakdown to form a late-night dancefloor cut.

Darius Syrossian has been at the forefront of UK electronic music for more than a decade. A prolific producer, the Moxy Muzik head has released several standout EPs on the label, including Fuego and Harlem Nights to name a few. He has also welcomed several industry-heavyweights to the imprint in recent times, including East End Dubs, Seb Zito and many more besides.

Bushwacka has remained a firm fixture in the global dance scene since first cutting his teeth in the acid era of the late eighties. Regularly reinventing himself, his production catalogue boasts releases on Ultra, CTR and Get Physical as well as a host of other industry-defining labels, whilst his legendary residency at London nightclub The End has given the British-mainstay a lifelong legacy.

When I heard the white label vinyl release from the Unknown Artist called Ijzeren Rots played by Cinthie it was a love on first listening. Yet somehow I missed something in it to be able to play it out by myself so I have decided to make a special edit-upgrade-rearrangement of it. Added new elements and made it more uplifting, more mystic. I have added additional 909 kick drum, new percussions, new 909 hihats and ride cymbal, new bass line to make it more tech house and to change the flow of the track. On top of all this got layered down elements of the Jim Morrison hypnotic vox. This is all for my personal use and it will never be released. Enjoy

Chilean-born Francisco Allendes returns to Crosstown Rebels for the first time in six years this May. Serving up the three-track What You Do, the title number has already received global airplay via Damian Lazarus himself. Now, the full release will be made available next month and includes a remix by US-legend Harry Romero.

“What You Do is one of those tracks that happens magically on a jam and you can't really make it much better after that. I wrote it during the pandemic, so I wanted to create a weapon for when clubs would open again. Maratone came about the day after I played b2b with Matthias Tanzmann for thirteen hours, at the birthday of a friend in Ibiza. I sent both tracks to Damian and didn’t hear back from him for a few months... then I woke up to his WhatsApp message. It was a video of him playing What You Do at Space Miami and people climbing the walls of the club!” - Francisco Allendes.

A contemporary dose of four-on-the-floor house, What You Do leaves few prisoners in its wake, as rampant drum patterns converge on a heady combination of kicks, synths and irresistible vocals right the way through. There’s an infectious energy to the track, paving the way for Harry Romero’s similarly up-tempo remix. It’s feel-good, club ready dance music at its best, packed full of low-slung groove that opens neatly into the closing sequence: Maratone, a stripped-back, techy cut that bears all the hallmarks of a true Ibiza anthem.

Hailing from Chile and now based in Ibiza, Francisco Allendes is a leading light in today’s scene. Be it Loco Dice’s Desolat, Steve Lawler’s VIVA or Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels, his productions have graced some of the industry’s most well-respected labels. Such quality hasn’t gone unnoticed - he picked up the ‘Best Ibiza’ DJ Award in September 2019 and has gone on to complete several South American tours. A much loved affiliate of ANTS, Francisco has a long standing residency at both Ushuaïa in Ibiza and their affiliated tours, in addition to hosting the weekly radio show.

Seminal American house talent Harry Romero is a well-established figure on the worldwide music circuit. A prominent global DJ and producer since the ‘90s, early productions on Cutting Records and Cutting Traxx helped set the tone for Harry’s career trajectory, opening the doors to a coveted BBC Radio 1 ‘Essential Mix’ in recent years.

Steve Lawler makes his debut on Hector Couto’s thriving Roush imprint to kick off 2017, with both Couto and Spanish talent Cuartero providing two stellar remixes.
2016 has seen Hector Couto’s Roush take a firm hold within the world of house, with releases from industry heavyweights including the likes of DJ W!ld, Steve Rachmad, Santé, Neverdogs, DJ T. and more this year alone. Next up is VIVa boss Steve Lawler, who finally releases ‘People Having Sex’ as his first offering on the label.
“I’m very happy to now release this track. I made it a couple of years ago around the time I made ‘House Record’ that was eventually released on Hot Creations. I was experimenting with my old Roland machines, trying to re-create a sound that I was aware of in the late 80’s. This track ‘People Having Sex’ was never sent out to anyone at the time and just kept it for my DJ sets. Now 2 years on, and under the desire of many people asking what this track is throughout all of this summer, I have decided to release it and where better than Hector Couto’s House label Roush” - Steve Lawler
Lawler’s original opens up the EP in fine style, revealing ever-evolving 303 lines, mischievous vocals, 808 claps and precise percussion patterns that combine to combine unearth a record unquestionably intended for the dancefloor. Next up, Roush boss Hector Couto’s interpretation firmly places its emphasis on percussion, with a driving low-slung groove and rugged drum licks guiding the production into an energy-fuelled workout across five and a half minutes.
Lastly, Cuartero’s remix shapes up the package by utilising the original’s playful vocal over a bubbling lead line whilst a series of glitches and pops ebb and flow amongst shuffling hats in the background, rounding out yet another impressive package from the team at Roush. Steve Lawler ‘People Having Sex’ is out on Roush on January 30th 2017.

Kittball welcome Raumakustik who join forces with Andrew Meller for a tasteful two tracker that hits hard.

Raumakustik are based in Dresden, much like Kittball, and is a duo with an incredible decade in the game behind them having delivered searing tech house on labels such as Hot Creations, Safe Music and Sola. Now for the next release, they get collaborative with Andrew Meller, a new school talent making waves with his own signature bustling house production, which have been picked up by the likes of Saved and Glasgow Underground. Between them they really cook up some serious house heat on ‘The Funk EP'.

'The Funk' kicks off with rib-rattling kick drums that reverberate the earth, a trippy synth sequence then grows in the mix and becomes the main focus during an atmospheric break down. 'Melodica' offers a different mood with its loose beats and glitchy hands claps all finished off with a freaky lead line.
