"A Wrinkle In Time" is a series of curated guest mixes inspired by John Peels habit to accidentally play records at the incorrect number of rpm. Though it never failed to annoy and embarrass him, one of the tribute compilations released after his death was given the title "Right Time, Wrong Speed". Nowadays Wrongspeeders are a popular and fun tool for most DJs. "A Wrinkle In Time" is not about playing 45s on 33 or the other way round though, but it has one important rule, its only rule: Don’t get too close to the original playing speed of the record, the area between +4 and -4 on the pitch scale of the turntable is a forbidden zone.

MOTHBALL FM with PORNOPOLIS (December 2023)

Ahoy has been a DJ for last 10 years. Right before turning 18 he bought his first DJ controller for pennies and learnt how to mix on headphones and cheap boomboxes.
5 years later under his "Captain'" moniker, he started making some edits for his sets. Unhappy with the status of the edit world, he took production classes to start crafting his own.
Always ecstatic to share some love, fun and beauty to the world, he started to publish his edits online for fellow DJs & music lovers to have access to these revisited gems.
Fast forward to present time, these edits are now played from Berghain to festivals in Thailand, from Disco Rollers in the UK to fantastic Italo Disco nights in Australia.
Now Ahoy focuses on playing more live DJ sets while still heavily releasing some of his Cap' Edits to the world.

Drew Webster aka Drucifer is an experimental musician from San Francisco, not to be confused with Charles Webster. You might not know him, but check all what he has produced since 2003. I have discovered him thanks to the excellent 716 playlist of Ian Watson. They both run the project W / W. Ian was also mentioning Drew’s project called Machine Shop : « This is Drew’s long-term project with percussionist Karen Stackpole. They do this stuff live with a collection of gongs and mics. »
I contacted Drew and he proposed me to do a live set of experimental turntable music.
