Józef Flakus aka @somnolent_works - pochodzący ze Śląska producent, DJ oraz muzyczny eksplorator. Zakochany w połamanych rytmach breakbeatów, oldschoolowym, często mocnym electro i surowym techno. Uwielbia łamać konwenanse i eksplorować nowe kierunki muzyczne. Inspiracje czerpie, jak to określa, z industrialnego klimatu Śląska w którym to wychowywał się od najmłodszych lat. Stały bywalec katowickiego klubu CEL, gdzie ostatnio coraz częściej można usłyszeć zza decków jego połamaną selektę. Pod koniec 2022 roku został wydany "Paperclip" na składance labelu SKAN, a wraz z początkiem 2023 szykuje się większe wydawnictwo na łamach katowickiego labelu POTOP.

My first introduction to DJ Stingray was from this mix I obtained of his appearance in Rotterdam's "famous to those who knew" Bootleg DJ Cafe in 2003. Back then his style was something I had never heard before and the sound made an profound impact on me as something new, fast, hard but funky and very futuristic.

Some of the tracks in this mix have been on my wishlist for ages, a  a lot have never been identified. As always, feel free to comment if you know any of them.
