When it comes to the dark, RnB Hip Hop sound, Shaker undoubtedly sits way up at the top of our list, right in the middle of the spotlight. And during these weird and uncertain times, one thing to know for sure is that Shaker has returned to his authenticity, and to his unique & original sound with his new release On My Own. As him and his long time friend and producer Cobra get back to work, together they’ve brought the unique and authentic Shaker sound back to life. 
          One of the main inspirations to the song originally stemmed from the lack of connection between Shaker and his inner world, and the discomfort that it had caused him. As the 21 year old Egyptian singer reconnected the dots, and dove deeper into his inner world, the ideas for the song began to flow, and the structure and mood of the song gradually began to grow into a fuller form. 
         Throughout the journey of diving inwards, Shaker discovered that his need to become like everybody else weighed him down, and that his tendency to compare himself to all of his friends and other competitors would eventually lead him towards his downfall. As he continued to evaluate his inner state, Shaker discovered that the best way to progress in this tough and unforgiving industry, was to stay true to who he was on a soul level, as well as to channeling that musically. Staying authentic to himself, and learning how to be on his own, without relying heavily on a single individual, or group of people is another main inspiration for the creation of this song. 
           Shaker’s On My Own, the incredible work of art produced by him and close Cobra, continues to stand out amongst the rest of his songs, as one of the most iconic and inspirational songs has ever created. Be Prepared to hear a lot more of this sound in the coming months, as this is just the beginning of a new wave.
