Kino Musica is a six-piece group that draws inspiration from across Africa and its Diaspora. The group's members hail from Washington, DC and have backgrounds in the area's East African and Latino communities. The idea for the group came together at a musician's jam when the members improvised a set of Ethiopian melodies over Afro-Latino rhythms. Since then, Kino Musica has continued to write and create danceable & soulful music that tells their story.
