My historical research focuses on the American Revolutionary and early republic periods. 

I maintain a practical blog called "Uncommonplace Book," which is about history and how to make history more accessible.

My podcast, "Ben Franklin’s World" is a podcast about early American history. It is a show for people who love history and for those who want to know more about the historical people and events that have impacted and shaped our present-day world.

In each episode, we sit down with an historian to discuss their unique insights into our early American past so we can learn more about who we are and how we can affect a better future.
