Looking at our perception system, we realize that we do not know its true nature.
It is as if we considered the surface of what we see, perhaps of a beautiful lake but we do not touch its water, nor do we dive into it to explore its depths.
Yes, we are superficial even if we have all the means not to be.
When we perceive we do something simple enough, we consider the things that reach us through our senses as pleasant and unpleasant.
For example. if the sound is ordered it is considered music, if it is messy and perhaps very loud it is considered as noise. In short, we are used to considering what surrounds us through the pleasantness or unpleasantness of what surrounds us.
It does not occur to us at all that pleasure and displeasure are senses or rather the seventh sense.
We call it "seventh sense" because we are all used to considering intuition as "the sixth sense".
In essence the seventh sense is the sense or are the senses of the sentient body.
