Jose Padilla sadly passed away on Sunday after a long battle with illness. 

To say he had an influence on me is an understatement. He was the king of chill out and quite possibly one of the greatest selectors of music ever. He invented the Baleric Sound. Encouraging a real diversity in the selection of the music. No one genre, just a mixture of records that fit perfectly with the time and location.

I first saw him DJ in Ibiza in 98 at Cafe Del Mar, it was a magical experience and one I am sure many visitors to Ibiza over the last 30 years will have enjoyed. 

He was not only a great DJ he was also an amazing producer and so as a tribute, I have put together a two-hour mix of music by Jose Padilla.

So long Jose. Thanks for the music and the memories. Ibizan sunsets won't be the same without you curating the soundtrack
